They're open! All 7 pages of GO ads are up!

Original Post:
This is a hot deal for those who drive all the way to I-45 to get some of their super deals. Fry's is building another store right off 59S near the Beltway.

Can't wait for it to open :)

That's 5-10 minutes closer than the I-45 Fry's is to me right now (Copperfield area)! And that's when there's no traffic! I'll definitely be attending this one exlusively after it opens, considering the fact that I won't hesitate to get out of my car for fear of being robbed or getting my car broken into in that area! :p

 Definitely a HOT Deal...I live in Sugar Land and really tired of driving to north part of town to get the ole "we sold out of that item already." At least I have a better chance of gettin' to those super special deals now in my neighborhood...CU there!!!!

I live close to I-45 and the beltway.

A salesman at Frys told me last month they were building one in Webster.

That would have been right down the street from me.:(

winr....yeah amazing there will be 3 Fry's in one metro area...kinda feel sorry for those geeks in other larger cities who have NO Fry's around them....we may have to start taking orders from those under privileged individuals in this forum and shipping out the good deal..LOL...

Yep im so happy about the store being built in Webster. I'm almost sure its on the corner of I-45 and Kobayashi (between Nasa RD 1 and FM 518 on the northbound side). The building is mostly up and the front looks to be themed after either an Apollo Module or the ISS.

Yup. Very HOT. Fry's told us this store would open in December. I can't believe they're gonna miss the Thanksgiving sales. I too live in Sugar Land and this place is right across the street from the Park&Ride where I get off the METRO bus after work everyday. How convenient is that! However, many cars get broken into in the Park&Ride parking lot so I don't know if this place is going to be any better than the I-45 N Fry's. This area also has alot of day labors so you can just pick up a couple of them to help you install that new 60" TV after you buy it from Fry's :)

From what I have read the Sugarland store should open in November or December, I havent found an ETA on the Webster store yet.

They would be opening sooner but the supply of defective merchandise has been slow lately. ECS has been having a problem also, too much of their stuff is compatable with other items Fry's sells. They do have some good buys but you better do a little research first and be lucky too! I have bought a lot of their stuff and the defect rate has run about 30%. Their rebates less than 50%. Maybe their service will be somewhat better also. The new store will be farther from Huntsville and the TDC from which most of the I45 group graduated. Recently a guy was robbed in the parking lot. He was in a Red Hummer H2 and they thought it was a Brinks truck.

Just because it is farther from Huntiville does not really matter. There are other facilities closer than you think.

Now all they need to do is open one in the Northeast part of Texas, and I'll have a Fry's everywhere I go. :D

You are certainly right! I completely forgot the facility at Sugarland. I guess that's why the picked this location, a whole new employment pool.

Perhaps they will have some new policies also. I recently went out to I45 to buy a 65" HDTV on special. I asked if I could pay for it then and pick it up in the morning. Well, no, you have to take it now. Ok, if you can load it in my truck, I will go buy some rope to tie it down with. NO, you cannot leave the parking lot, you must take it with you NOW. Talked to the manager, and he confirmed...."sale items must be removed from the store at time of purchase, unless we deliver" Well, when can you deliver..." I don't know and the delivery manager is out on a delivery" Well, shall I just find a place to sit and wait a few hours? "Well, I guess you can go across the street and buy some rope at Walmart, but I'm not supposed to let you leave the parking lot" Thanks man, you are kind, I really feel bad, if the parking lot cameras catch me leaving and it gets back to the home office. I know Jack Fry would have your ass. And I'm sure if you loose this job it's back to the old TDC # 78655 (for non-Texans, TDC is the Texas Dept of Corrections). We do not have criminals or convicts in Texas , they are actually and officially called " Errants" as in " I made an error and I am truly sorry that I killed those 6 children" I am willing to take a suspended sentence and work at FRY'S for 1 year."

I've heard an unconfirmed rumor somewhere that both the Webster and Sugarland locations will have their grand openings on Black Friday. I haven't been able to verify that, but if it happens I'll be eating my turkey and stuffing in a beach-chair in the Fry's parking lot starting on that Wed. night.

SWEET!! Now I can actually go to Fry's.
I've always avoided Fry's because it's about 45 minutes drive from my place.
This is good news.
