Sorry if this is a repeat, but I tried the search and it doens't seem to be working too well..

Anyway, I think this is a pretty good deal. It's the Seagate 300GB ST3300620AS drive 7200.10 Barracuda. SATAII. Supports NCQ. 16MB cache, retail kit.

They also had a 200GB Maxtor for $49.

hope you like it...I'm in for 1 to replace my doomed 160GB HDS Deathstar...Why do I buy anything but seagate? :disgust:

$20 more gets you 400GB SATA/300 -- shipped free to your door.

Not crapping... just offering options for someone with an extra $20

If I needed one, it would be difficult not to jump on these HD deals.
But, it seems every week the price just keeps dropping.

I figure if I can hold out to the very last second, I should be able to get a 500GB (or 750) for ~$100.

If I didn't need one right now to replace my dying drive, I'd probably wait till the larger drives come down. I know that I'll have about 6 sub 200GB drives in a year that I'm just kicking myself about....all to be replaced with a pair or 750GB SATAII drives.

What makes you think they're 7200.10s? I believe they are 7200.9s. You can get a 7200.10 250G for $75 at newegg or a 320G for $85.

whats this talk about 7200.10's and 7200.9s? can someone pls explain this to me and how would i check on the box? Thanks.

The 7200.10 is the newer model with faster perpendicular storage, however they tend to run a bit hotter and louder than the 7200.9. I think it is listed in the specs on the box, I am not certain of this though. Maybe some one else could comment.

I picked up a couple of these the last time they were on sale from Frys and they are the .10.... Just remember this helpfull hint. Both mine came with the SATA 150 jumper on them so remember to remove it to get the SATA 300 speeds if you mb supports it.

I jumped on this on Friday and it is indeed a .10 model.

300 GB PATA drives are now $74.99 with free shipping.

This is a good week to buy drives:

300GB = $75
400GB = $100
500GB = $110

All with 5 year warranties.
