Would like to buy one, but so turned off by the whole activation thing.
What if Valve went out of business say 2 or 4 years down the road from now. If I installed it on my new computer then, would I still be able to play/activate it if I wanted to? Probably not. And that's what really bothers me. Why couldn't they have just required a product key to play the single player and then if you wanted to play online then require activation or something? :|

So if you don't get the Collectors Edition can you still play CS: Source or do you need a seperate key for that too?
the box retail version has HL and CSS for any more games you'd have to buy the dvd version or sign up for a silver account at Steam

In the area where the game is mixed in other games (not in the display box), it had the price marked at $39.xx. I'll check my receipt after work to verify exact price. Cashier rang it up at that price. I also brought a copy of the Microcenter ad, but didn't need to use it. Price should have been good to at least thursday. Not sure after that.
