In case your still looking for it, they had a bunch at Frys yesterday. New PC games usually go on sale there FYI.

Would like to buy one, but so turned off by the whole activation thing.

What if Valve went out of business say 2 or 4 years down the road from now. If I installed it on my new computer then, would I still be able to play/activate it if I wanted to? Probably not. And that's what really bothers me. Why couldn't they have just required a product key to play the single player and then if you wanted to play online then require activation or something? :|

Don't be turned off! Rest assured that a crack will be available in a few months. 😀

months? you mean pretty much the instant the game came out? 🙂
you just need to register and 'logout correctly' and then you cna play offline. *shrugs* for me it's not a big deal since i use steam to play CS online anyway.

yeah i drove all the way to frys to find out that it was $54.99... oh wel bought it anyway.

Btw how baddass is it to run it at 1600x1200 on dell 2001FP at the fullest settings.

Thank you dell 40% 8400 coupon.

still gotta brag for a second...

Dell 8400
P4 3.0ghz 1mb cache 800mhz fsb
1gb DDR2 533 Ram
Raided 36gb raptors
200GB WD SATA HD
GF 6800 GTO (unlocked to full pipes - 375/1000)
Dual 2001FP Monitors
16x dual layer burner
dvd player

ONLY $2000..... !@(*#&@(*$&@#(*&(@$*#

the box retail version has HL and CSS for any more games you'd have to buy the dvd version or sign up for a silver account at Steam 😀

bmott-doesnt the 2001fp kickass? my girl is buying me a second one for xmas 🙂 i think it's down to $600 at dell, now that deserves a thread on it's own.

The day I went, there was a display box and 2 other areas that had copies of HL2. In the area where the game is mixed in other games (not in the display box), it had the price marked at $39.xx. I'll check my receipt after work to verify exact price. Cashier rang it up at that price. I also brought a copy of the Microcenter ad, but didn't need to use it. Price should have been good to at least thursday. Not sure after that.

So if you don't get the Collectors Edition can you still play CS: Source or do you need a seperate key for that too?

normal edition comes with cs source. special edition comes with half life 1 source. neat yes, but not worth the price difference.

HL2, CSS, and the crack are already available for those who mess with that kind of thing.

not if u play online😛
