The 5.99 Logitech optical mouse was back in stock at around 6:30 pm in Fountain Valley, there were only about 20 of them though and going quick. My friend and I each grabbed one. There were lots of people after the $7 50 pack 32X CD-R and 19.99 BTC 56X CD rom too. The line was long, but the waiting time was only about 15-20 mins.

P.S. I believe the laser printer rebate is for southern California stores only. I believe its an instant rebate?

Yea I went the Fry's this afternoon. It was crazy.. the lines at City of Industry (at least when i went) weren't that bad, but the parking was horrible. The lady at the cash register was horrible though. It took her nearly 30 minutes to fix my order because some guy didn't listen to me and put both of my 80 gig drives on one form. But still, I stood there at the register forever and my friend had to go to work. Horrible :disgust:

Oh well, picked 2 Seagate 80 gigs and the Shuttle/Athlon XP 1800 combo.

Anyone else who bought the drive have the sales rep. fill out and take care of the rebate? All I had to do is fill in my name and address and she did all the rest and said they would take care of the rebate. I hope they dont screw me.

The seagate HD rebate form says it requires the original receipt. Do I have to mail them the original receipt?
And how long is its warranty?
The sale person told me it only has 30 days warranty.

For those who wondered, Anahiem Frys still has plenty of PDA's

Got myself a m100, and the cheapie 24x cd-rw drive for $70. After opening the box, I found a highly acclaimed LG electronics drive. Not bad...

<< Standard Seagate warrenty is 3 years... Maybe Fry's warrenty is only 30 days though... >>

I think it's 15 days in store on all hard drives, ram, processors, cd-rw, then Seagate for 3 yrs.

Well, since this deal's over, here's a little extra on ti200 at Burbank, today.
I opened some of the boxes on the Ti200 and saw a different card than the one pictured above. In fact, it was an ECS card, which I later found out to be based on the SiS chip. What happened is ppl took the $30 ECS card and swapped it out with a Ti200 since both boxes were open. I wonder how many people got away with that considering there's a camera right over the video aisle.
As for me, I'm saving up for a Ti4200.

Anyone who loves fry's or wants one has never had to (try) to return something there.

Its a 1200 step process during which you and the product are copiously scrutinized and questioned.

Curiously I have a much higher DOH (dead on home) rating for fry's bought product than anywhere else, resulting in necessary returns. Probably because they repackage returned product and put it back on the shelf for sale as new? And I've always thought that must inherently be illegal, but they've been doing it for years.

They have everything but the customer serverice is crap. I like their products and stuff but they treat customers like crap. When you return something, they just put a sticker on it and put it back on the shelf, even if it doesn't work.;)

Returning something at Frys is indeed the worst experience one can have. Whenever I buy something at Frys, I stand there and stare at the box for about 10 Minutes and ask myself "Do I *really* want to buy this and risk having to return it?" Then I walk around the store for another 20 minutes holding the item...still asking myself "Is it worth it to stand in the return line if this doesn't work???"

I have always considered Frys the "Worlds Largest Garage Sale." They sell a lot of junk. Unfortunately, they also have a lot of good deals on occassion..which makes it difficult to stay away. I'd like to write the store completely off my "to visit" list..but dang, every so often the place does make me happy.

Incidentally, I bought the Inland Optical Mouse when it was $7.99 a few weeks ago. It works very well. I like that fact that it is PS/2 because it saves on a USB Port. The Logitech one does come with a PS/2 adapter, but of course that one makes the plug stick out like 3 inches on the back of the computer.

Went to the City of Industry Fry's tonight at 6pm. Had a blast! Got parking in about 5 minutes, and only 8 spaces from the entrance! Lots of suits -- people who came down from corporate, and vendor reps. Everyone was helpful and curteous, sort of like they were on happy pills. I was genuinely surprised, since I had had some less than fun experiences at Fry's in the past. Wonder how long it lasts, but it is definitely a move in the right direction!

I found almost everything I wanted. For what was out, a little asking and a corporate guy substituted something better for me. The line was 50 deep, but it took only 7 minutes to get to the front of it.

All in all, had fun, and its half as far as Burbank was for me, so I'll be back! :)

Since Frys was an hour drive I decided to try and do a pricematch in Oxnard. I was able to get the Samsung printer, Empire Earth, Planet of the Apes CD, and Logitech mouse all at the sale price!!

At first the manager said he would only give me $100 gift check for the printer IR. I thought about it for a minute, about what I could buy or maybe buying something and then returning it for cash the next day and said that would be fine. A few minutes later the guy changed his mind for some reason and gave it to me for $100 (probably too much of a hassle for them).

So I scored big time. Would have liked a few other things at Frys but no bid deal and I didn't have to fight the crowds.

Others might want to try this on the sales that run through Tuesday

Edit: I also got to use my $50 gift card from xmas so it was an even bigger score;)

We hit the Anaheim Fry's after dinner, and while it was packed, parking was ok. Long lines for motherboards and memory, even with like 6 guys writing orders.

I couldn't decide on what to buy, and kept changing my mind in the line, ended up buying both combo's MSI 645 Ultra333 w 1.7 Ghz P4, and Shuttle AK31A(V3) w XP1800+, plus they had a table marked 50% where I picked up a KK266+R bare bones for $80.

While I was doing that the wife was stacking up DVDs. We put our son in the check out line, and ended up with less than a 2 minute wait.

I never found the Geforce3 video cards, but I think the Gateway deal was better anyway.

They ran out of 128MB DDR that was supposed to go with the P4 combo, but for $34 more substituted 256 MB of DDR PC2700.

Now to test this stuff and build some systems... (I am going to buy cases, heatsink and fan, etc. at the TRW swapmeet in Torrance Sat).

I was working the Service Department today at Fry's in City of Industry. I was wondering why there was so many people.....Anandtech effect! I was at work at 6:00am. Thank to you guys, I just got off work at 11:30...pm :(

It was still a pretty fun day though.

I'm disappointed at you hot dealers. Blah blah, hard drive this. Blah blah, geforce that. Why isnt anyone talking about the hottest deal of the day? The $.25 hot dog and drink?

I got there around 530p and everything i wanted was gone (hot dogs included). So after 30min of wandering around I finally spotted a lady pushing in a cart with a hundred of those logitech mice. I nabbed 2 and waited in line 30 min and went home happy.

From reading most frys threads, i'll have to say many of you sound like whining babies to the people who dont have a frys. When I moved to LA i read about all the horror stories and complaints and even though some were true and i did return maybe 10% of my purchases then I still was happier with these guys than most other stores. The stories arent as bad as these guys say. Its sad that so many people can be so bitter from a few bad return experiences that they will come to these boards and constantly do the "frys is suck" routine. Just be lucky you even have a frys or if your that bitter then avoid the frys threads completely.

Unbelievable. I'm always amazed when I hear things like this. I guess I really shouldn't be but my mind just doesn't work that way!
