Houston's only Fry's was crazy. It would have been easier if the other 2 Fry's were ready to open.

My bro wanted the TV($90) and the portable DVD player($130), but they were all out by the time I got there. I wanted to pick up the $99 computer and the $15AR DVD player, but they were out too.

All we got were the 160 Gb external HD, $10 Uniden Phone/Answer Mach., 25 pack DVD+R and +RW, and the USB card reader.

On my wait to leave, there was this family of 3 that were selling the right to buy the Sharp 25" TV for $20. I could not believe their gall. They did this in the store and had 4 TV sitting in their basket. The guy in front of me got mad and told the manager. We were in front of AVTV dept anyway and it was merchandise in his dept. I was too far away by the time he got there, but I the family was not there anymore when the line came back around. I assume they either were forced to give back 3 of them or just got in line to buy the TV themselves.

Yup, they had that for Washington Fry's.

Some others I didn't see above:

Olympus C725 - 3mp, 8x optical zoom - $197
Kingston 512mb SD memory card - $49.99 - $40 mir = $9.99
Western Digital 200gb Hard Drive - $118.99 - $60 mir - $10 mir = $48.99
Hitachi 2gb Microdrive - $99.99 - $20 mir = $79.99
PQI 512mb CF card - $42.99 - $35 mir = $7.99
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (retail box) with mobo (unknown which) - $219.99
450 watt PSU - $37 - $37 mir = FREE
Lenmar Pro23 charger w/4 AA's - $7 - $7 mir = FREE
Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer w/Tilt Wheel - $19.99
Samsung 912n 19" LCD - $549.99 - $100 mir - $70 mir = $379.99
Samsung 712n 17" LCD - $419.99 - $50 mir - $120 mir = $249.99

Those are all that somewhat stand out to me. The Antec SLK1600 for $5 after mir is sweet tho. Especially cuz it comes with a 300w (Antec) PSU!!

BEWARE of some of those items, for example I just checked the rebates for the PQI CF and Kingston SD cards on Outpost.com, both have expired even though the webpage shows differently... It is disappointing that Outpost isn't pulling rebates and/or posting newer rebate form, whichever applies.

I bought one of those 512mb CF from PQI and i was given a printed rebate form that shows the valid dates from 11-25 to 11-27 on the $35.00 rebate.

Let's keep them fingers crossed. :)

All my rebates are on their way already.. lets see how long they will all take (Totalling $275.00)

Guess nobody else noticed this so I will mention it.....

The Canon PIXMA IP2000 printer says $79.99 - $50 = $29.99 in the ad... but there is some fine print around it stating that you save an additional $10, and that the $29.99 listed is the price before those savings are applied. So the final price on the printer is actually $79.99 - $10 IR - $50 MIR = $19.99. Making it pretty damn hot for a new printer I think, especially a Canon PIXMA. I would have picked it up myself while I was there, had I not already gotten the Canon i475D printer for $19.99 from OfficeMax a couple weeks back.

Saw a couple people in line with a Hyundai so I believe that's what it was.

Swung by the Fremont store, it was insane. Saw the line and left.

it was quite an experience. i began my wait at 5am and once the line was moving, everything was quick. the line to get cpu/mobo/memory was longer than i expected but i got my 512mb sd card for $9.99ar. i so want another one. i got lucky with the panasonic phone for $9.99ar... when i went to the actual aisle, i was about 2 minutes late as people were literally climbing on top of each other to get one. but while i was waiting in line to check out my $3.50 cd-r's and sd card, i spotted one remaining phone left sitting on top of some candy bars. lucky me. i was out by 7am.

Didn't Fry's also have Corsair dual channel PC 3200 for $99 after MIR? Isn't that a good deal even for Corsair Value RAM, which I read somewhere was very good even for their value RAM.

I saw that in the local paper and I think it's a good deal. The reason I think it's not being talked about is because everyone is concentrating on getting the BF hot deals first.

One other thing I noticed while at Fry's... I was comparing the two budget vid cards in the BF ad, the BFG GeForce FX5500 OC ($29) against the Xtasy Radeon 9550 ($49), trying to figure out if the 9550 was worth the extra $20. Well the price on the display actually had the 9550 coming to $39 after rebates. Still couldn't figure out which card was the lesser POS tho so I didn't bite on either one. Anyone know which is the faster card or better deal between these two?

The Corsair RAM is a BF deal I believe... it says "1 day only" (ie. Friday) next to it in the ad.

Was going to take a look at the RAM but I forgot to. The ad says "Low Cas Latency", i'm not sure if Fry's says that on the Corsair Value RAM or if it was something better.

was half life 2 on sale?

The ad said it was, but didn't show a price

It was on sale for 37.99. The 8 page ad in the San Jose Mercury News actually shows the price by an arrow pointing to the 37.99 price. The official Prima Half Life 2 book was also on sale for 19.99. Doom 3 was 27.99. Just down the street at Computer Surplus, (formally softwareandstuff.com) , Doom 3 was 24.99. The Sunnyvale Fry's had a ton (well maybe 50 or more) of the Antec SLK 1600 cases for 44.99 with 40 rebate. I couldn't believe no one was buying them for 5.00 afer rebate. I snagged another one to go with the other one I bought from Fry's a couple months ago for 45 with a 20 rebate. I've built 9 or 10 computers for people with this case over the last 4 months. It has a nice Antec 300 W PS with SATA power connects.

I bought my half-life 2 @ frys about a week ago for $54.99. today, i saw the ad and it said it's $37.99, so i went there and they matched the price, and got $21.xx back. :D

also, i had someone to pick up a 24 season 1 for me for $12.99 @ bestbuy. and also got that 70s show season 1 for like $31.

it's been a good day :)

I got the Duron 1.6Ghz + motherboard (PCChips M811LU) for $39.99 at the City of Industry Fry's. The checkout person tried to give me a 3Ghz Pentium 4 instead of the Duron, but I told her it was the wrong CPU. :)
