Fry's E6300 $149

Pretty hot deal.

Edit: Curious as to how it supports both DDR400 & DDR2. I thought different pin configuration.

Very hot. They typically run the E6300 deal Retail for $169, but for $149, thats tough to beat.

The motherboard has 2 channels of DDR1 and 2 channels of DDR2 for a max of 2 gigs of one or the other... doesn't support Dual Channel.

I tried to enable overclocking on this mobo with no success. Computer took dump and I had to manually reset bios

Great deal, I picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago for $169.99(Retail cpu) good for a mild overclock 280fsb but the board is solid and basically free.

yeah, the "B"'s are supposed to be better than the "A"'s
newegg has the The Biostar TForce P965PT for $105, but the one to get is the deluxe, which has the new 500+ FSB bios avail. I would love to get a deluxe, but its vaporware - not to be found anywhere except maybe few in UK.
A guy over at xtremesys is getting 581 on a deluxe

Biostar has virtually no support, and the only place to get the bios is on the chinese website.
Buy this board and you are truly on your own.

I live very close to a Frys. This dosen't have any pci-e slots does it? Is that one 16x that I see? Also what does dual stage mean? Also what does OEM mean?

This board has AGP 8x only, dual stage i think refers to the fact that you can use DDR or DDR2 memory with it, and OEM means the CPU does not come with a retail box and you would need to buy your own heatsink and fan.

@Bozo Galora- If you peel off the sticker on the motherboard of the P965PT, it says P965 Deluxe. I have one and have looked 😉

Yup, board is AGP only and has onboard video.

I picked one up too, and yeah OEM means it comes with no heatsink. Can anyone suggest a good cheap heatsink I can pick up B&M somewhere? The only one they had at Fry's under $20 was a Thermaltake TR2-M21

I've got Arctic Cooling's Alpine 7 in one budget rig - pretty low tech but it does the job and is reasonably quiet. I paid about $13 at Directron. That TT TR2-M21 should be ok too.

I can't remember a time when I had to RMA an CPU.

CPUs go bad? LOL... just kidding. 🙂

I've never had a bad CPU either...probably the most reliable component I've dealt with.

Thats interesting, however the sticker may mean they made a non deluxe from a deluxe
The plain has 4 SATA ports, the two in the middle are not soldered in
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=TForce%20965PT
the deluxe has 6

I note that the USA site has no deluxe PT, the Taiwan site has all three PT PTdeluxe and 965 (no PT)
http://www.biostar.com.tw/t-series/products.php
and the Chinese site has no plain
The plain PT and the deluxe have different bios
deluxe:
Version (Sep 14) IP96A914.BST
http://www.biostar.cn/supports/BIOSResult.asp?vID=32&MID=26
Plain (Sep 15):
IP96ca914bs.exe
http://www.biostar.com.tw/t-series/download/bios_details.php?id=19
http://www.biostar.com.tw/t-series/down...ocket775/TForce%20965PT/P96ca914bs.exe

So I assume you bought yours from Newegg - what do you have?
4 or 6 SATA?
which shipping bios?
