Fry's E4300 and ESC Motherboard combo

In the San Jose paper Fry's is running the E4300 and ECS P4M800Pro V2 as a one-day-sale for $119. I picked up this combo the last time they ran it at $159, did the BSEL mod and am running at 2.4GHz. You'll find a lot of negative comments on the motherboard - but for me it works great. There were compatibility issues with this combo a few months back but I believe their current stock has the needed December BIOS. The E4300 will hit 3.0 GHz and above on a better MB, but 2.4GHz with what amounts to a free MB ain't bad.

** Appears to be at all Fry's retail locations today for $129. Processor is OEM - no HSF.

Anybody willing to check out the other Frys location? More specifically Renton, WA.

Hmmm...I wonder how much that board would fetch on eBay. I want an E4300 but loathe ECS boards.

I'm seeing $10-$15 selling prices on eBay. But why worry - the combo costs less than the CPU alone purchased elsewhere, so you're still ahead if you throw the board away.

It's a double-edged sword. We may have Frys B&Ms all over the place, but we also have to pay tax on Newegg/ZZF stuff so I'm guessing that it all evens out.

Seattle folks don't pay taxes at Newegg/ZZF. :)

Got my E4300 running at 3ghz stable right now at stock voltages & stock intel heatsink. On a different board though (MSI P6N SLI-FI).

Not surprising. I think Frys is based in San Jose. I'll have to check out the flyer tomorrow. Sometimes the specials carry over.

Last time Bay Area Fry's had a deal like this, the SoCal one had it the following Friday, but now they're claiming they already had this deal. I sure as hell don't remember it being down here.
