Salaku, thanks for the post!

Anyone know the specific model board that comes with the Sempron 2400+ combo?

Wow I wonder why there's a price difference between the two like that...

I hate Fry's

not because they do not have good deals (since they do have burning hot deals)
but because there is no Fry's in Va and I am in Va

why Why?

Check Outpost.com for these deals. I have purchased many of the same specials thru them as they are a sister company to Fry's. The item numbers are even the same most of the time. You do pay shipping but in alot of cases this is less than sales tax so it equals out.😉

Bump for outpost.com! I bought the Sempron 2500+ combo for $75+ tax, and the system is actually pretty fast! And stable!

I got the 2500+ deal a week ago. Built up the system yesterday = all joy. No glitches/problems/issues. I did have to change a jumper on mboard for 2500+ to run at correct speed.

That's what I'm saying! You change 2 jumbers, number 8&9 (I think) to 2-3 slots, and bamm, you have 166fsb x 10.5 running at 1.75gig (rounded up). All this for around $83 including shipping.

What is faster for gaming: Athlon XP 1800+ or the Sempron 2400 combo??
Also, will PC2100 DDR Ram work with the Sempron combo?

I would say the sempron 2400 but not by much. If you get the sempron combo then you should get some pc2700 ram or higher to take adavantage of the 333fsb. Pc2100 ram will work with the sempron combo but your system will be running at 266fsb. So if you have a Athlon XP 1800+ system then I would just stick with it.
