Weird, I couldn't find any performance reviews on it. I am still hanging on my q8200 @ 3.2ghz .
:ninja:

I was really hoping it would/will be but got impatient and went with Intel.
Really my own personal opinion is its going to be a flop.
Well at least they will get sales from the idiots who just see more cores and purchase without knowing much of anything. Using the more is better mentality.

I stayed up all night and am leaving shortly to be at Frys right when they open.
Demanding a cpu is what I will be doing.
My anus is prepared to pay the price...

4 the lulz, eh?

ah well. Guess I'll go waste my time in another of the ten or more bulldozer b-sh*t threads.

Seriously, if BD's were in Retailers don't you think someone would have managed to snag one and post some Benchmarks?

I'm really thinking this is either a major league Troll thread (sorry) or a case of mistaken identity

:colbert:

If they are waiting for 4th qtr then it should be Oct 1st, or the 4th if they want to "wait till tuesday". Why wait 2 weeks? ipoop 5?

Was there this much excitement before SB? I dont remember there being as much...

Because everyone were damn sure of its performance as Anand did a preview of SB a few months before it was supposed to be released.

No one is sure how BD is going to perform...

Not to mention all the AMD fans (fanboys??) trying to tout Bulldozer as the next Intel killer. If they are right, more power to them, but I seriously doubt that it is going to be that great, after all the delays and secrecy.

Why support one over the other? I have a 2500k based machine and am pleased. I am looking forward to BD but if its not much improvement over Phenom II, I will get an x4 and drop it onto an AM3 board I have. I will love each just as much. They are like children...

Couldn't agree more. Fanboys are the worst part of this hobby, and every other hobby for that matter. Brand loyalty is just silly. Buy what you want at the price you want. I have owned AMD and Intel pretty much equally over the years. Same with Nvidia/ATI(now AMD).

I think insecurity is the root of all of it. Fanboys feel the need to defend their choices. So much so that they argue about any performance advantage that one platform offers over the other at the time. They have to feel good about their choice, to justify it. Even if that involves running down the choice of someone else.

Personally I hope BD does well. I hope Ivy Bridge does well too. For either company to have a launch failure is not good. At least not for the consumer. Another thing is that many people try to defend their choice by citing how one company is a better citizen than the other. The thing is, these corporations answer to one group of people--shareholders. If anyone thinks that any company cares about them or their interests, they are silly.

Anyway, it does get tiring to see so many fanboy posts, especially at times like this. It would be very interesting to know the age of the average fanboy.

Personally I want to see AMD kick the crap out of Intel with BD. Then I want to see Intel come back to kick the crap out of AMD, then AMD come back, then Intel come back, and on and on. This is how AMD and nVidia have been doing it for a while and the graphics industry has advanced rapidly because of it. Now if games actually took advantage of the capabilities of a modern GPU...

Competition is good, grudge matches are better. But mostly I want to see the company's both having to work hard to earn our money.
