I would get the x2 since the mobo looks a bit more modern and can probably run vista.

Yeah, get the X2. You'll save the difference in price in your first three months of electricity bills... seriously!

B&M for all I know.

Well, I'm heading out to pick up the X2 on your recommendations.

Thanks for the input,

Their mobo/cpu combos are almost always B&M (in-store) only. They sell them as loss-leaders. That's why you can't get them online.

Then again, if you're gonna buy online, aren't you just as likely to add a few more things to your cart? Hmmm....

I wonder if they make 50% of their profits selling sodas at the checkout to the exhausted people who've been wandering the superstores for 3 hours... :)

As an add on here. It may depend on if you want to use old ddr memory or video card. I believe the amd is ddr2 only and pci-x. The intel uses either memory and agp. Also Aren't we just comparing a 65watt amd to a 86watt or so 805? That shouldn't be such a big deal. Video card can make a much bigger diff than 20-30 watts.

But you have to take into account that the 805 is the same old crappy netburst architecture we all love to hate. While it has high numbers to fool the masses of peasants the actual performance figures are appaling. They are good overclockers though, but then you would be looking more at something like 110W.
