Saw this in the local Friday ad, should be an awesome deal, totally blows away microcenter's deal. Looks like I'll have to get one!

This is hot, right?

But, they have lots in stock! I called the Renton store and they have "dozens", I've been trying to get in the microcenter's deal for awhile now.

Thanks,
Adrian

Same here. I don't live by either store sadly. If someone who lives in a state with no tax like OR, I would love to buy a SLACR G0 for $200. My heat is jjoshua2. Shipping from OR to WA is about $3. So you would be making a few bucks and doing the Anandtech world a kind deed. PM if interested so I won't buy another one and I will promise to buy yours.

They're probably gonna want to insure it. To do that will push shipping close to, if not over $10.

I too need one of these chips and live in the middle of nowhere.

Let's not forget the famous handling fee that will bump it another $30. 😛

The San Diego Fry's still has them in stock and I can confirm they have retail SLACR G0 steppings in stock. I got 2 of them. Just ask the checkout person to look for that code in picking up the boxes.

Hmm tax its self here will bring that 189 to 205, and i have not seen shipping for $3 unless you want it taken out of the box and shipped...

Finally; I've been waiting for this since Microcenter disappointed me with inability to order online.

Now I've got all I need to finish my PC configuration. Well except a basic video card, but maybe there will be another FAR 6200 PCIE card sometime soon.

also i think or is the only state without sales tax

Moogr.com has a 20% coupon (on site) so their Q6600 is $212.80 (retail) or $202.40 (oem) plus shipping after coupon. Shipping looks reasonable at $6.99 Fedex ground for me in Midwest. There is a thread over at SlickDeals about the coupon (only good on AMD/Intel CPUs).

Not as good as Fry's but after you add up all the hassle of someone buying and shipping one for you it is probably a better way to go.

With that part number, it should always be a retail box processor. But they can't tell you over the phone which revision it is. (The guys at the components desk can't look at the processor themselves.)

If you're in the store, you might be able to have one of the guys at the components desk call the "cage" before you order one to see if the SLACR revision is available. You can also ask whether it is a new item or a returned item.

Picked up a retail SLACR yesterday at Renton. Currently running Prime95 at 3GHz (9x333) and 1.25v core. (Tried 1.20v but Vista BS'd on me). Looks good so far. Must update sig.

Just picked up a SLACR in Sacramento, pack date 3/4/08. Sales clerk said they had 'plenty' left. Ad good until 4/1/08, I think.

I picked up a SLACR for $179 on Friday. Looking forward to the Abit AB9 Pro MB to arrive from Newegg so I can put it all together. 🙂
