I don't know the Motherboard model or chipset, but it's most likely an ECS board. I have bought a few of the GQ's with AMD CPU's a couple years back when they went for 99.99. All were ECS boards. Also the GQ laptops can also be ECS. Model number from Fry's.com doesn't correspond with anything from ECS's website.

Since Frys ads are hit and miss on the web in the LA area, I got there too late for the $199 desktop deal. By noon they were long gone.

This ad is a one-day-only and no rainchecks. So, NOT a hot deal if, as in my case, there is much distance involved getting there and it is sold out.

The specs for Frys computers can be found at fryssupport.net. This GQ5140 computer has an ECS 945GZT-M board. The board has a PCIe graphics slot and dual channel mem.

I just bought a GQ5140 for $200. The specs are available on the Fry's support site.

The ECS motherboard is set up for all the Intel 775 series processors. I am adding an NVidea 8600 graphics card and another Gb of Ram for HD output and HCMP compatibility. The integrated audio has 6:1 sound and a header on the motherboard for SPDIF out but they didn't provide an adapter to bring the signal out to the backplane. How dumb is that? All I need is the coax version (RCE jack) but they don't seem able to supply it. Before I go to the trouble of making one up, if anyone knows where to get one let me know.

The thing is about the cost of the Microsoft Vista it comes with so how can you go wrong. For $400 bucks I'll have a system that outperforms all the standard boxes out there by a long shot.
