Fry's 9800 non-pro $200 today only

MicroCenter has the same card (same pricE), advertised with HL2, but did not come with a coupon. The local store is calling "Headquarters" to find out what the deal is.

Ah ... so my local MicroCenter wasn't the only one with 9800's sans the HL 2 coupon.

I'm keeping the ad until HL 2 releases, MC is usually good about "fixing" their errors.

Not to bunp a repost, but the Woodland Hills Fry's still has many 9800 non pros available. If you don't see it on the shelf, ask the guy in the section and he'll get you one. They store extras elsewhere. There were 9800s on the shelf and in the excess storage area, around 10 that I saw just a few minutes ago.

This sale is awesome. I just got back again to pick up another video card on sale and a copy of Halo for $17.99. Yep, even the hot deals are still available 8 hours later. 😀 This ain't no best buy.

At Fry's or MC? I'm going back to ask about it now. The OC Register has the ad in it, so I'm printing that.

Damn didnt think to ask if they had extras in the back, but it was a madhouse so I dont know if that woulda helped at all. Sacramento Fry's.

Midnight Rambler,

Did the Microcenter ad say it came w/ HL2? I got my card there but never saw the actual ad.

Anyways,

On Ebay lately, retail ATI Radeon 9800 Pro were going for "Buy it now" at $219.95. However I did not buy it because I wanted the AIW 9800 Pro.

good to see they still have stop in the afternoon

thanx for the heads up

😀 still plenty of 9800 non-pros at Woodland Hills for $199.

Go to the customer service area (the back row of cashiers) and ask them for the "FREE* HALF-LIFE 2 ACTIVATION KEY" rebate form. You need to mail it in to get the key. I have the form now, but it's a pretty poor copy. It's not going to look good scanned, so please don't ask me to email it.

The form doesn't seem to be on outpost.com even though it's valid for both Fry's and Outpost between 11/27 and 12/2.

LOL some guy had the nerve to ask for the $99 computer at 4PM. That's 10 hours after the store opened. 😀

Read the "Hot Deals" thread on that one, it was a scam!

bboy:

Yes, if you look in the special Micro Center Black Friday Ad, pg. 5, right next to the pic of the Radeon 9800, it says : "FREE Half Life 2 Offer via mail. See store for details."

I am going through this with MC right now. I bought the 9800 NP and there's no coupon in the box. I called and complained today, and am waiting for "a manager" to return my call. I think they were under the impression that ATi would offer this, but the card I got was a 'Built By ATi' and that particular make does not come with the HL2 offer, at least not from ATi. MC is going to have to pony up for the coupons, I suppose.
What are my rights regarding advertisements? If they say tough sh*t, what should my response be except "well you advertised..."? I am not very experienced with this.
This will be interesting. Others who bought the same card at MC, *please* update this thread with the outcome of discussions with your MC. Thanks.

I was at my Fry's yesterday at 6 am. Was about 500th in line saw the radeon 9800 np, only 2 left by then =P. But I don't need to spend this much on a graphics card right now.

I think MC is just confused right now. The Fry's I went to didn't have the flyers on the 9800 cards, but it was in the ad. I went back later and spoke to the computer department guy. He went to the computer and printed out a rebate form for mailing away to get the HL2 key. It is an offer by ATI. I'm sure MC will find the rebate form particular to them and get it out to everyone who requested it.

i drove to fry's yesterday ~11am and there was a line that was 30mins wait JUST to get into the parking lot. *shivers*. i turned around and drove home.
