When I was on the fence back in August over Skylake or Haswell-E Fry's made it a lot easier: they had the MSI X99S Krait for $109 one week and the 5820K for $288 the next. This motherboard is probably not quite as nice as the Krait, but it does have USB 3.1 if anyone cares. You have to receive email codes in order to pick up this deal, and the motherboard was part of yesterday's deals (it's a two day one, though which is why you can still grab one today) so you cannot sign up for the codes today and pick them both up in all likelihood. I may have just gotten lucky, but my 5820K does 4.5 Ghz at 1.3 and, with rather mediocre air cooling, only breaks into the low 80s.

They're both in stock at my Fry's, but I'll be passing as I don't need a second one of these beasts!

The mobo is the MSI X99A Raider, I picked up one of each today and ordered 16GB of Gskill DDR4 from the egg. I was going to hold out for BF deals on a 6700k... but at this price I could not resist.

Wish I lived closer to Fry's, but they sold out anyway. I tried to have Newegg price match them but they wouldn't as it supposedly went below cost.

Le sigh.
