No there are not... I picked up a pair for myself tonight at Fry's in Houston. Sucked cuz I was gonna buy a pair of heat spreaders to put on there but noone would help me after they handed me my paper order to take to the registers and I didn't see any on the shelves....

Good memory and good price. Just cause the memory may be value select doesn't mean it sucks. I've seen tests where corsair value select cas2.5 runs pretty much the same as corsair xms memory.

How does this compair to OCZ PC3500 EL? My OCZ is 2*256MB and I've wanted to move up to a matched pair of 512MB modules.

Picked up the Mushkin 1GB kit online and did 2 day shipping for like $0.80 more than ground. I'm anxious to see how well it works in my 400SC!

Picked this up in Chicago, running at 225FSB and 8-3-3-2.5 timings on my Abit IS7.

I would appreciate any input on the Patriot brand. The idiots at Fry's could not tell me the timings on any of the ram, only suggesting it was CL3 for the Mushkin, Corsair and some Patriot that was 119 (no rebate) for 1GB dual channel. Well, I didn't want to go home with some slack memory so I got a 1GB kit of Patriot that was 2-3-2-5-1T for 179-20 MIR. But if it is suck, I will take it back and get the Mushkin that people are saying is CAS 2.5-3-3-8.

I can't believe those guys at Fry's can not come up with the timings for theri RAM when they are selling it all day to crowds of people. But then again, I didn't know it either so...

This has blue heat spreaders on it and I am thinking of pulling them off to see what is actually under there. Woudl that invalidate any warrenty?

I am just trying to get 1GB of some decent stuff. Right now I have 512 of Geil Golden Dragon, but I got it at $77 and the price has gone throught the roof since then.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I can also verify 2.5-3-3 at 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8v

2-3-3 was a no boot at 2.8v. I have no further overvolting capability.

This at 200 MHz, I haven't cranked up the FSB yet, I take cautious steps (Memtest + Prime + SuperPi + Gunmetal to verify stability... takes a while)

Ok, so I don't know, but is the difference between cas 2.0 and 2.5 really meaningful? I'm just wondering if this is a good place to put my money, or should I go for a faster processor. Not that I'm looking to replace my Barton, but I really don't have a grasp of the significance of tight timings. I'm gonna run at fsb200 and atleast CAS 2.5, it's just all these little numbers don't ring out with any meaning to me or at least enough to throw more money at it.
I would like to move up to 1GB and I suppose a matched pair of DDR modules is a given, although I don't really know if that should be a big deal either. I don't want to spend significant money on a rather insignificant upgrade.

Newegg is running this item for $71 w/ free shipping. It looks identical to that offered at Fry's except they are packaged as single modules. I was wondering if those offered at Frys are a matched pair or simply bundled together. If so, I'd rather forgo their offer for NE's price with free shipping and no sales tax.

Yes, the Fry's item had a Mushkin label on them that said they were dual channel.

Also, in my opinion, the difference between 2.5-3-3 and 2-2-2 isn't worth it when 2-2-2 is going to cost you about twice as much. 2.5-3-3 is fast enough for all but the crazy 'must be the fastest' people. Personally, I find it ironic that people with a newer Barton would buy the fastest memory available.

I respect the value of a Barton, I have three. But, I just don't see spending tons of money to have super freaky fast memory. No matter how fast you make the fastest Barton, it will still get owned by even a halfway decent P4 or A64 system.

Received my package today with my 2 Mushin sticks of DDR400 goodness. Threw them both in my Dell PE400SC, and immediately checked the BIOS: 1024MB reported in Dual Channel mode. Great! Boot up into xP and run CPU-Z and it reports it as Dual Channel, with the timings of 2.5-3-3. I always get in on a decent deal and never purchase a second set :(

Thats strange I but a gig of this Mushkin 3200 in a PE400SC and CPU-Z reports it as timings 2.5-4-4-8:confused: Any other PE400SC owners report getting 2.5-3-3-7 or 2.5-4-4-8. I might have been slipped some slower Ram Damn I hate when I get lsser performance for the same price. Might have to take it back I try some other sticks.:disgust:

Cpu-z repots these as 2.5-3-3-8 for me in a dfi lanparty pro875b. Are you sure your bios is set to memory timing "by spd" and is detecting the speed corectly?
