frying egg in microwave

i've done it scrambled in the microwave for egg/ham/muffins many times. haven't tried it with the yolk intact though.

So it works with scrambled eggs? I've never tried cooking an egg in the mic before.

One method is to blend eggs in a bowl with a little additional water . . mixture puffs up during microwaving but doesn't explode.
When I did that back in KC the eggs always came out green (hard water). If I used milk instead, they came out OK; kind of omelet-like if you nuke them in a shallow bowl. Soft Carolina mountain water doesn't color eggs.

yeh, it goes pretty fast. for one scrambled egg - i put it in a bowl (no cover) for 30 secs on one side and then i turn it over for 30 seconds on the other side. you have to watch it cause it puffs up as it's cooking and will over run the bowl.

the cooked egg comes out round like the bowl.

(coat the bowl you are cooking it in with cooking spray for easier removal of egg)

You can't fry an egg with microwaves without some sort of specialized equipment, AFAIK.

i dont know why youd even want to, its not like its alot of trouble to heat a pan, add some oil or buttah, and crack an egg over it.

A whole egg, shell and all, will explode quite nicely.

A raw egg, yolk intact, will still pop, but not as badly. About 30 seconds or so, on 70% power will work, you'll have a nicely cooked (not fried necessarily) egg.

I cook eggs in the microwave often. Crack them into a buttered bowl, poke the yoke with a fork (don't know if this matters but it's the way I was taught), and cook it for about 30 seconds on high (depends on microwave power). The result is close to a poached egg, not a fried egg.

I do it all the time. Cover a bowl in melted butter, then mix eggs, milk and whatever else you want into the bowl and stick in the microwave until cooked.
