Frustration...........

Ok, so we all know that the P4 clocks down to half it's speed once it gets too hot, but all the freaking AMD zealots here get totally the wrong idea and advertise the p4 as a 700 mhz cpu. This is so damn frustrating since I think people would rather have the p4 clock down than have it burn up. Plus the Palomino will have it too so the people that say they won't buy intel until their cpus get back to full speed shoudl be saying the same about AMD but noooo. So in closing, DAMN YOU AMD ZEALOTS! At least get the facts straight when bashing Intel. Try hitting on their crappy performance because of their long cycles or their high price because of expensive motherboards and kind of expensive ram.

I agree...I am an amd man but I definitely saw that as a beneficial feature...plus it doesn't kick in until a certain temp which is way too hot anyway for most peoples systems.

I haven't seen any threads where they are preaching this crap!!!

I like amd, I think amds are better IMHO...I favor stating facts and reviews not propaganda...

people think the cpu runs at half most of the time or something...

cpu throttling only comes into effect if you can't cool it DECENTLY..which is hard to do.

still..i would never buy one of those P4s..eeew...AMD all the way!

Just to clear the air, I am not an Intel nor an AMD person. Right now I am on a p3 933 system, but I am currently in the process of building a Thunderbird 1.33 ghz system
