Day three of being stuck at home. I can't clear the driveway because I can't stand up on it. I hate winter in the north :p

Yeah I'd love to get a high efficiency wood stove, just don't have any decent place for one. Though I have been considering one of those outdoor wood boilers, but it's not the same, and it's more work since you have to go outside to light it. :p

I just got one installed. I only stock it twice a day since its just me. Heats the hot water well . It stays lit unless you let your coals totally die. Loving it!

Having a woodburner is nice, even if you only use it a couple times per year for ambiance burning. Makes a good backup in case power goes out. I really like the mix of stuff I have here. I have electric, natural gas, town water, and a wood stove. Not much can happen aside from extreme bad luck that'll knock me completely out of commission. I can heat and cook without gas or electric, and when the electric goes out, I still have water; even hot water. I've never known the gas to quit working, but I suppose it could happen.

I heard rumours we're suppose to get some -70 windchills coming soon but have yet to hear anything too official. I'd be legit curious to see what that is like. The coldest I've ever really seen is like -50. That seems to always be the cut off, like I don't think I've seen even -51.
