Anyone figure out how to disable constant invitations from other players during single player, without having to log-off?

It's really distracting trying to play when you're constantly bombarded with invitations for matches.

Yup.

When you first boot up the game, it asks you to log in. Click the "Play offline" button and boom, no online requests, etc.

Ok how about some basic hints on the first mission. I don't really quite understand why my guy can be kneeling with aim at the end of a turn; then stay there and the next turn their guy can walk into line of sight and shoot my guy before I shoot 'em (even though I did not move).

It depends, was he kneeling behind a half height wall and was he facing the wall? If so, when you're kneeling, you can't see over half height walls and enemies can't see you.

what class was the enemy? shotgunners have extra initiative and can fire faster than other classes.

check out the video tutorials linked in the help section of the game. I learned some extra stuff that wasn't in the regular in-game tutorial.

I think part of the problem is that the game doesn't really indicate what type of character you have and the range of their shots. I now suspect I was not getting close enough but not sure. I think one bullet is fileman? 2 is shotgun? cross eye is sniper ? HOw can you tell if you are in range ? Many bullets is machine gunner ?

Does this compare to any other games that's been around? It looks interesting, but I don't quite get the concept :)

It doesn't really compare to any other game out there. It's turn-based strategy, but your turn plays out simultaneously with your opponent. There's a planning period (can last as long as you want), and when you're ready, you hit the play button, and the game moves 5 seconds in time, applying all the commands that you and the AI have planned. Then you're back to planning once again.

I'm also having trouble identifying the range of different units (esp shotguns)
