Frozen pointer?

Ok, here's the prob quick and simple. Sometimes my mouse ICON**** will freeze but it will continue to function. Like i can click drag, right click things and do the normal things with the mouse, but it's like the icon just sticks in one spot. Hope that makes sense, leme try again. My pointer is in the middle of tthe screen, but if i drag far left/down and press left click, i can pop up my start menu. like i said, moves, but visually doesn't. WTF? PLEASE HELP O WISE ONES
 
You might want to update the video driver and also when this symptom start showing up pres "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and see the cpu usage. While there check what programs are running in the background. It could be that anti virus or anti malwares are running in the background which uses a lot of resources thus the video refresh has to wait or the mouse pointer lagging. Check your system for malwares also.
