Frozen pizzas are so incredibly disappointing

I've always been afraid to try those Walmart pizzas. Especially at that price 😱

The walmart/sam's club pizzas are awesome. 16" meatlovers for less than $10, are you f'in kidding me. Plus, they're not frozen, they're made fresh that day with real meats and cheeses.

I didn't put it in the microwave long. 30 seconds and it tastes like cardboard.

Still too long. If I don't have access to an oven or toaster oven, I put it in the microwave for a maximum of 15 seconds. Usually more like 10, just so it isn't super cold.

Cold pizza > microwave reheated pizza

I have one 🙂

Digiorno is one of the better frozen pizzas when you first cook it. But the leftovers are just about the worst for some reason. Whatever strange chemical concoction they put in there ensures the pizza tastes like crap after it first cools down.

I'm going to comment a bunch of posts in this thread, along with the common posts that eventually appear in pizza threads.

I like DiGiorno pizza - original crust with pepperoni. It's the best frozen pizza I've had.

I don't like crazy toppings on my pizza. It was meant to really only be sauce and cheese. Pepperoni and a couple other meats are all that I'll really eat on pizza.

I don't like Costco pizza. Just doesn't taste good to me.

I don't understand the Pizzazz thing. Why wouldn't I just use my oven?

The store bought pizza crusts I've tried to "make your own pizza" aren't very good. I need to try making my own crust.

Not everybody has a great "mom & pop" place nearby or has the know how/tools/time to make their own pizza. The big chain places aren't the best pizza you'll find, but they also aren't garbage/cardboard. There's a reason they're successful enough to be big chain places - they have a consistent product that is good enough for a lot of people.

I enjoy the Red Baron original crust myself. At $3 for a medium sized pie it's hard to beat that price.

Palermo's thin frozen pizza is pretty kick ass.

But since I have a Ninja I just make my own pizza now.

Pizzaz ovens are nice. You don't have to preheat, it's usually quicker than an oven. Good for reheating, too. However, using a stone pan is always the better way to go.

If you are in Minnesota, then Heggie's frozen pizza is the best. Hard to find, though.

If you consider everything that you like about fresh pizza, and compare that to frozen pizzas...what is it that built any expectation of goodness in the first place?

I'd rather run to Little Caesar and pick one up than go frozen.

Little Caesar makes my favorite pizza for the price. For frozen, you have to go budget, or specialty premium. The mid range pizzas that try to be carry out are always a failure. Budget pizzas have nice crispy crusts, and a decent flavor, and specialty pizzas are expensive, but tasty.

I actually found a good generic brand a long ass time ago and now cant remember what it was.
Maybe Cub Foods or Albertsons or something.
