Hey, you'll be able to judge for yourself next week. Hope you have an extra battery and a charger at the ready. Oh, and Hulu is blocked so there goes 50% of the incentive. The ads still work, most of the time.

sorry, i missed where you linked to battery life tests done with flash running

Just run Flash for a while on your notebook/netbook if you need an indication of what battery performance will be. Do you really think Flash on mobile will be any nicer to the battery?

Didn't you know...if its going to drain your battery, you shouldn't be allowed to do it. In fact, I heard rumor that dwell is sponsoring an initiative to go back to Edge speeds & set a maximum screen size of 2.5". After all, who wants to sacrifice battery life for a better mobile experience???

Technical forum. No personal attacks.

And if it sucks we could just not use it I suppose. It's nice having the option of choice at any rate.

but the Apple guys would rather have no choices at all. It's whatever master Jobs says cus for them he can do no wrong. For them, choice is a bad thing as they bash anything that gives you a choice. The choice to run Flash??? No way cus they THINK it sucks. The choice to go to the millions and millions of sites that only Flash??? Pshh no cus Jobs says it's bad. Because they think it sucks it means it sucks. They don't care that other people want something cus when they say it sucks, no one wants it.

Once again the Apple fanbois come in and take a giant shit in an Android thread. Someone needs to ban him to the Gimp Tank that All Things Apple is.

Apple fanboy? Is that why I've spent the last week writing an Android app? :awe:

and Q sold his iphone and is getting and Android. The point is that the two of you can't resist a chance to come in and dump in any thread that talks about Android getting something that your precious iphones don't have.

Just STFU already. Its been old for a long time. To quote Corpy:

Microsoft hires Linux fanboys. Android fanboys write apps for iPhone. Why do you always try to shift focus? You can't possibly claim to not be an Apple fanboy, and you know it.

They've had 10 years to get Flash working at an acceptable speed and without major bugs on the PC and Mac and have failed. How in the hell are they going to bang the mobile version into shape in a few months?
My cheapie (sub-$500) Win7 laptop can run Flash without an issue. The speed is great and it never crashes.

Maybe you can show us a screenshot, video clip, or other data which shows how poorly Flash is running on your PC?

I could care less about Apple. The focus here is how Flash is suddenly the greatest thing on Earth to all those who were complaining about it just last year. Like it's gonna be better on a mobile device with 1/4 the power of your desktop, lol.

BTW I'll be at Castle Redmond tomorrow. Even MS will tell you that Flash stinks.

Could you? How much less could you care? You clearly indicate by that statement that you care some measureable amount.

Lets be serious. You act like this Flash debacle is your only Apple-related contribution to these forums. Typical to your style - you are changing a stance to fit a current thread. You promote Apple and/or bash their competitors - especially Microsoft - incessantly. *cue where you go and find one post where you criticized Apple or praised Google as if that isolated incident discredits the larger trend*

And wow...Microsoft - the maker of a competing technology - will tell you that Flash has issues. That's just....shocking, chris.

Even thought Microsoft said it has issues it said it's extremely important for today's consumers which it is. People can act like it isn't but it is.

I think we all agree that Adobe in general and flash in particular are both buggy, nasty and overall a stinking pile of dung. But with that said, why put Android down because they were the first mobile OS to figure out how to make it work? Oh that's right. King Steve has told you how to think and even gave you specific talking points.

I seriously wonder about some people's moms. Mine taught me that if I didn't have anything nice to say, I should keep my mouth shut. Makes you wonder what dwell's mom was focusing on?

Stay on topic, or I'll have to start removing people until I find GG&P can stay on topic on its own. Ranting about fanboys is not what this forum is for.

The topic is Froyo, stick to that.

Whose Froyo? Is he a fanboy too?

Holy shit, these guys are claiming a 450% speed increase with 2.2 http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...-it-compared-to-2-1-oh-only-about-450-faster/

Your link seems to be broken or they're getting a lot of hits right now but here it is on Gizmodo.

http://gizmodo.com/5536751/android-22-vs-android-21-froyo-is-450-faster

They ran a benchmark on Linpack but honestly to me, benches don't matter at all. I want to see how much faster 2.2 makes the OS as a whole, not just some benchmarks.

Agreed. 2.1 is pretty fast on my Incredible (and that's with Sense running all the time). If 2.2 can boost the overall OS performance like this, and not just from running benchmarks, then I'm looking forward to it even more.

Apparently this thread and this forum are just about hijacking perfectly good threads and turning them into flamewars. That's fine. I was wrong for my "near personal attack" but this whole deal has proven to me that this forum is not about gadgets, gear or phones. I have no idea what its really about but its for sure not about serious or intelligent discussions.

I've been around for a long time and this was the first forum that I could actually contribute to. But once again, its not about contributing here...I really am lost as to what this place is about.

So I'm done. This is the first time I've logged in here in a week and it will for sure be a lot longer before I come back.

Once an industry becomes booming, and the geeks pick up on it, there are bound to be fanboys. Are the debates here really worse than PS3 vs XBOX360 vs Wii? Or ATI vs NVidia? I don't think so.

Anyway, Froyo didn't come out Day 1. Chance that it will come out Day 2 of Google I/O? Dunno. Either way it's more like "wait 3 more months" for Moto Milestone users...

It's gonna be wait months for anyone but in any case, updates are good as Android updates have introduced many good things with every version.

Well tomorrow has the "TBA" android events so I'm sure we'll hear about it then. As for the actual release I'm sure it's a few months off yet.
