I liked Coors when I was in college. I couldn't tollerate beer very well, but I was able to choke down it's lightness. Kind of built up my tolerence :)

I drink dark stuff that pours like motor oil now.

I buy whatever is on sale. Domestic mainstream beers all taste about the same. I am much more of a snob about scotch and bourbon.

Actually I still kinda like standard Miller in bar bottles or on tap ... can't drink Coors anymore though.

I like how that article makes it sound as if the companies can't survive if they don't combine. Evidently the world will come to end if you don't grow grow grow.

How does the merger have anything to do with college students? The respective brand's beers will remain intact, they will save costs in other areas. Honestly I can understand the shift away from beer. If you're going out to get drunk on the weekend why guzzle down 5-10 tasteless carbonated beers when there so much else out there? I'

I could agree. They make amazing mass market craft beers. Any beer brewed with rice is not worth drinking. I have migrated to the darker, stronger, and more flavvor beers. Trader Joe's Hofbrau is simply amazing (7.7 % ABV).

why do so many who've recently discovered non-BMC beer think that dark = flavorful/impressive/high ABV?
