True, but Cocoa Pebbles > Fruity Pebbles. :p

Yup, but they've changed over the years. 70s Cocoa Pebbles were better than later versions. They had several formula changes, and lost their way. They're still good, but not what they should be.

This is very true. Lately I've gone over to the value brands (Cocoa Dyno-Bites!) and I find they taste better than current Cocoa Pebbles.

I'm ALL for off brands (drugs, auto parts, etc), BUT generic cereal sucks time and time again.

They always cut the roof of my mouth or something is quite not right at all.

Oh I definitely agree, but the value "rice" cereals (Rice Krispies, Cocoa Pebbles) are actually not bad at all. Anything else I would definitely get name brand though.

Cocoa Dyno-Bites is more of a copy of Cocoa Rice Krispies, not Cocoa Pebbles.

I generally don't use generic foods, period.
You won't see me use store brand cereals, sodas, apple/orange juice, bread, ice cream, and such.
They all pretty much taste disgusting to me.

As long as it has nothing to do with "taste", I'm okay to using most generic products.

Name brand cereals cut your mouth up, too, if you don't let it soak long enough. Cap'n Crunch is the only huge offender I can think of right now, that stuff just tears my mouth apart. Haven't had a sugary cereal in a couple years, I should get some Waffle Crisp!

LOL, Cap'n Crunch most definitely does, but it's tastes pretty damn good too. D:

Sickeningly sweet cereal, mass marketed to kids through constant bombardment in commercials. Kids statistically hear more cereal peddling commercials than they actually hear their own parents speak. Thus contributing to an epidemic of obesity.

Of course, there are the people with the delusion "when I have a child, that'll never happen." 2 minute long commercial breaks every 4 minutes; 90 seconds of which are advertisements for cereal shaped, artificially sweetened sugar bombs - commercials which are designed by crack teams of the top child psychologists in the world to have as much influence on behavior as the vast majority of parents.

Calls of "the industry should set some voluntary standards to follow" are answered with "OMG! They're suggesting a violation of free speech!" and "Hey parents! The government is saying you're not capable of telling your child what to do! We're just playing these commercials that couldn't possibly influence your kids. "

Hello Hobbes, been watching Calvin munch down another bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs? ;)

guys, it's not like brand name cereals are high quality. the knock off versions are pretty much identical. it's sugar and some grain, not very hard to duplicate
