I looked at this and wondered if it would be enough like Battlefield to amuse me. Perhaps the sale will breathe a little life back into the multiplayer with any luck.

I bought this and was in to it for a couple of months. I thought it was hella fun. If you like Battlefield, you WILL like this. Being designed by the guys behind Desert Combat, the control scheme is almost identical, you will feel right at home from the start.

The achilles heel is the player base for multiplayer, it is low. On the other hand, it may not be as low as the game-monitor site depicts. I do recall the in-game browser picking up servers that do not show on game-monitor. That being said, there still were only around a few servers where every one congregated. I stopped playing because none of my buds picked it up. I just went back to BF2...

I think the single player game was relatively short. It was way easier and less frenetic that COD 4 single player, or maybe I was just playing it on an easy level. I may go back and try to re-do it on the hardest level.

With all the vehicles, choppers, planes, and the RC stuff, there's plenty of toys to play with. If you get it all patched up, there are a lot of maps, too. I recall thinking how much more detailed and pretty they were compared to BF2's maps..

I guess I better check it out soon, and see if there is a player bump from this sale.

They should have made it $5. That would have guaranteed massive sales and a multiplayer revival.

I actually bought this game at release and couldn't really play it due to problems on both the client and server side. The premise is good but overall the game was coded like sh**. Its been heavily patched since then. I'd say its worth it for $8, but don't expect $40 worth of value.

Its sad really because Frontlines could have beat the battlefield series at its own game.

Some friends and I bought it for something like $13 shipped from gogamer. I liked the SP game and out of the 3 of us that got it only 1 didn't like it.

This was long after it was all patched up though but I didn't have any trouble with the game and found it entertaining for the money. There was a fair amount of MP going on when I played it but I moved to other games and didn't get very involved in the MP side.

I picked it up for $7.50, mostly because I'm weak against the power of Steam Weekend Deals. I'm up to around 120 games on my Steam account, and a good number of them are weekend deals and last year's after Christmas sale.

This will have to sit in my back catalog for a bit tho, since L4D2 just dropped, and Serious Same HD hits next week on the 24th.

lol, they need to sell it for like $2.50 if they want enough people to populate some servers. then they can think about selling it for $8 because people won't want a game that lacks online population to begin with.

The game is quite fun but the servers are borked and Valve screwed up the Steam release. Or so i think:

Basically i get banned from servers for all kinds of shit; duplicate CD Key (nice one Steam), base camping when capping an objective and sometimes it just refuses to connect to a server.

I bought it on the steam weekend deal but the game refuses to launch. I mean literally nothing happens when I click launch on steam.
