It's a longshot but what the heck ... anyone with the cap. or the torrent to the show?

mods pls. remove if it's not appropriate.

TIA!

Anybody else notice the contradiction?

First they said how they have the "low price" leader to get you to that section where you'll buy something not so low priced. The former manager said he "knew" that their prices were not the best. But they then go on to explore how Wal-Mart gets such low prices through China.....for like an hour

We didn't have a Wal-Mart within a few hundred miles until this year. When they first opened, their price on name brand soda was significantly lower the first few weeks of business. Then they jacked up their price to match all of the other stores.

Walmart also sends out flyers to employees to coach them on how to get on public assistance programs, Like Medicare and Medicaid. So in reality, the American TaxPayer subsidises their profits so that they do not have to foot the bill for employee insurance.

Wal Mart is the New 800 lb Gorilla.

I respect you Ulfwald but I have to disagree with you on this. I have worked for the company for 4+ years and have never seen or heard of such a thing.

I hav'nt been in a walmart in 10 years. Used to be my favorite store for fishing lures/hunting supplies/sporting goods. Now it's just white trash and employees that don't know sh1t from Cheyenne and all cheap junk. I grew up admiring Walden america first and cheap philosophy he had...once he died the assholes took it over and tuned it to crap.

Costco/bassproshops is my new walmart

PBS's site sucks or AT effect. I get constant buffering with 4MB broadband torrent would be ideal...

It was either 20/20, or 60 minutes, and they had a report on how this was happening. they uncovered some internal memos through a confidential source a few years ago.

Also, they are one of the biggest snatchers of land. They get Gov't to "condem land" and then they go in and buy it for pennies on the dollar.

Look up wal mart and iminent domain Alabastar AL is where it is happening right now.

As usual I have mixed feelings on these stories. On the one hand what wal-mart does, it's profit-first , lowest price philosophy is awesome and standard fair in business for just about forever. I mean which business does'nt strive for profits and the higher the profits the better. It's the American dream. Also they are playing the business game better than anyone with innovative outsourcing techniques used in the 90's till today and manhandling the manufactures to bring consumers lowest price. The sad part is the massive transfer of wealth from american hands to chineese. Anytime we import 36B and only are sending back 3B as the long Beach port spokeswoman suggests we have a net loss as a USA community and china and chineese gets richer. But then again they earned it to some by offering the best price for thier labor.

These types of things like trade, tarrifs, business, should'nt be regulated by the powers that be who think they know better than everyone else, but instead the consumers should vote with thier wallet. If you choose to support Americans buy American. It will cost you more, and give less utility per dollar spent but also builds stong communities here because it will translate into employment here and higher pay. If you want to shop on price alone or are just really poor and have to count every dime I think its anti-freedom to restrict consumers from finding a Wal-Mart or restrict Wal-Marts from opening wherever they choose to.

BTW- the solution to these people sucking the tax payer teet is to eliminate these opportunites by elminating the programs not blame walmart.
