I am running Windows XP Pro and when I insert a USB flash drive into my front USB my monitor shuts off but the tower is still running.

I have replaced the power supply with a more powerful one and I have replaced the video card and the RAM to no avail

Any help or links to help would be much appreciated.

Wow... That sounds more like a feature to me... =)

But seriously: Have you checked the connection from the front of the case to the motherboard? That it's plugged into the right spot and facing the right direction, etc etc?

Has it always done this or just recently?

It has always done it. I have replaced the front side USB wiring in the case, and changed the connection from the front side USB to the motherboard, I have also replaced the mobo.

... Oh. Well... ummm... *scratches back of head* right.

Has it always been the same USB stick? or have you tried different ones?

And plugging the USB drive into the back of the computer doesn't do this?

What about plugging other USB devices into the port? (Like a web-cam or something like that) Does the monitor go then?

Yes, anything plugged into the front USB port and the monitor goes. I do not even have to plug it in, just touch the connection with the device does it.:(

So let me get this straight, you've replaced:
The Motherboard
The Power supply and
The wires to the front USB port?

And it does it for any USB device you plug in...
