the fan in the front of my case is practically inaudible.. but it's in one of those goddamn thermaltake fan brackets and because of the way my case is made, i can't screw the fan directly onto the case chassis.

Double sided foam tape! Stops rattles and keeps stuff in place.

Would'nt that be a "Thermaldamn" fan bracket :G[/quote]

how much/where can i get this stuff from? Is it sturdy enough that i can just tape my fan into my case? 😀

I think I have some of that "punched metal cheese grater" you were talking about, obstructing my exhaust fan. Should I cut it out?

And how/why does having only an exhaust fan draw more dust into the case than having both intake/exhaust?

Should I install an intake fan even though the front of my chassi is completely solid, or maybe that is the way it always is? The whole thing stands on four metal "pits" or knobs, and there seems to be a cut out line underneath the chassi, right below where the intake fan would be screwed on.

it would probably give more turbulence.. cool the hd's a bit.

oh, so i've been running without that intake fan.. and my hd temps went up 1 degree celcius... that may have to do with change in ambient temp though. anyway, i can still feel the air rushing into my case via the front, so i think i'm leaving the fan out 😀
