front headphone jack mod....

ok, there was a guide on how someone did it.. i wanna see what approach they took... dang it, does anyone know where that is??!?!?!? I can't remember where i saw it for the life of me!!!

i did one a while ago... My Case Site. It basically consisted of getting a stereo cable, plus a female-female stereo plug adapter so I could pull off my front case cover without having to pull the entire stereo cable.

thanks, but i was looking for something a that seemed a little more technical.. it seemed that it was wired so you could actually switch between headphones and speakers (which is what I want).

Anyone?

It's called SoundBlaster Live! Platinum. 😉 I've got the Live!DriveII and when I plug my headphones into the front plate, it mutes my speakers automatically. 🙂

There are also some LiveDrive-type units you can buy, which will disable the speakers when the headphones are plugged in. I can't remember now where I read the review, but I'm sure they couldn't be too hard to find. And if I ever find them again, I will post them.

yes, those are $30 (looks cheap) or $70 (it's $70 more than i have 🙁).

Maybe I'll save up for a live drive... but i don't get it, why must they be so damn expensive if I just want the stupid drive.. GRRRR.
