my wife's 2003 explorer needs a front end alignment. her front tires are getting really worn on the inside shoulders really fast.

where's a good place to have that done?

when i was a kid, montgomery wards used to offer a life-time alignment deal.. but i don't think they do that anymore..

thanks alot,
rp

any place you can buy tires, pretty much, though they may charge a lot for it. though walmart and other big boxes don't do alignment. at least, my wally world doesn't do alignments.

a place around here has little signs up at intersections advertising alignment for $40. i'd just start calling and asking how much.

Try sears.

be careful of the lifetime people, Firestones, etc... as most are just places that will rip you off.

make sure the place adjusts the camber and caster as well, I know a lot of places only adjust the toe in and that will mess you up.

What's wrong with the lifetime?

It has fine print that any thing they find has to be repaired from them, must be done every so often, maintaince fees, etc... Read ALL the fine print.

I've taken my truck to the local Goodyear shop twice in the past 8 years. They offer a 1 year warranty on their alignment, and it costs ~$60. Thought it was pretty cool when I saw the super-techno laser thingys (that's a technical term) on the wheels, that gives a 4-wheel alignment (first time I'd seen one of those). 🙂

In my area Wayne, NJ, I go to EuroTire in Fairfield, NJ They have a Hunter 4 wheel alignment
machine and they do work on many high end cars. It runs about $80 for a 4 wheel alignment
and it is always spot on, if the cars components are not worn out. If they were not here,
I would trust my local GM Chevy shop for the work. Goodyear can be fine, if the mechanics
know what they are doing. You could also ask your local police who they use. They want the
squad cars to be correct.
