Front audio connector

Looks like you're stuck with AC97. No fear, the only difference that I notice is the lack of auto-sense. My BIOS allows me to enable/disable the front audio header, and all I have to do to then use the AC97 connections on my chassis to the HDAudio header on my m/b is tick "Disable front panel jack detection" in the Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager that lives in my control panel.

Go to Audio I/O, click the little spanner icon next to where it says analog, and off you go. Yours may be different mind, but there you go!

Anyway, going from those 2 pictures I think it'll connect up like this...

MIC-VCC --> MIC Power (Pin 3 on your motherboard)
MIC-IN --> MIC (Pin 1)
GND --> GND (Pin 2)
EAR-L --> Line Out L (Pin 9)
EAR-R --> Line Out R (Pin 5)
