From an AGP 9800 Non-pro to ??? PCI-Express?

I have a P4 system with an ATI 9800 non-pro AGP version. I'm going to switch to a Shuttle SFF (SB81P, I think) with PCI Express. I don't want to spend $500 on a vid card, something in the $200 or less range would be ideal. Would an nVidia 6600GT give me performance at least as good as my trusty ATI 9800? My primary game is FlightSim 2004, so image quality with FSAA and filtering are important. Would the ATI X700s be better?

if u r still gonna stick with intel, buy 6600gt. if u r waiting for amd's athlon64 pci express, i will suggest u wait for x800 for $250 too.

Thanks for that advice. My wife works for Intel, and she'd kill me if I went the AMD route on this system. Although I was very tempted.... Actually, I would have gotten an AMD-based Shuttle and kept the AGP 9800 to put in it....

lol , this has to be the worst excuse for sticking with intel 😀

anyway , try to convince you wife that you are not interested in using your computer for decompressing files with winrar or for creating divx movies but for playing games.
