Got this email from my brother Jeff...

Last saturday night we got a hitchhicker that must have wanted to move from the pere marquette boat ramp to 1319 Potomac in Belleville for some reason. He didn't even let us know he was here untill sunday. The nerve.

That's the frame of the trailer for a 28ft speed boat and the 'hitcher' was caught while winching up the boat.

I have no idea the type of 'hitcher,' but it was over 6 feet long!...And VERY much alive when discovered! Look a Pic5....

I bet when you lift the boat off of him, he's dead in a minute... Ouch.... Poor little fella.

Looks to be either a water snake (nonvenomous) or water moccasin (venomous). It's hard to tell from the one pic of its head. Tell your brother to be careful getting rid of it no matter what.

6 feet long for either one is very long! Maybe the fact that it was squished made him a bit longer. :)

That doesn't look like a rattler. Must be some kind of field/water snake. Nice pics. I've had a python in my picnic basket once and a cobra in my trunk before. Both in Africa though. Bump for snakes.. :)
