As the show got more mature, I came to feel that George and his parents were the backbone of that show. ...kind of how the Simpsons went from a Bart-based show in its early days to Homer domintating its golden years.

Adding Jerry Stiller was the most brilliant casting move that the producers ever made.

Hell, I even liked Putty and J Peterman more than Kramer by the end. Strangely...Jerry seemed to be the weakest character overall, IMO.

There were too many bad episodes on Seinfeld. The funny ones were really funny. The majority were blah. The last two seasons sucked badly. It overstayed it welcome on TV.

Friends was consistently better. You could pick any rerun of Friends and enjoy it. Not so with Seinfeld.

I like both, but definitely prefer Friends. It has an actual story you can follow through all 10 seasons. I own all 10 seasons on DVD and never get tired of watching them. I also like to watch Seinfeld but as dr150 pointed out, not all of them are funny. Friends may be less funny if you measure peaks, but it is good on average over all of the episodes. Plus, the storyline ends pretty well and a lot of shows don't.
 
I know that this forum will be at least 80% Seinfeld, but not for me! Friends all the way. I even have the box set. 😀

How about "Coupling"? For those of you who watched the 3 seasons of the BBC version, what did you think. I looooved it.

honestly i had no idea seinfeld was so much more popular. i am glad to see that a few people here share the same views as me that friends is overall overall better. i also own all 10 seasons and enjoy the reruns. i did really like seinfeld also but i just dont like watching them a second time once ive seen them.
