It is believed by sources that the actor had guests over in the evening and assured them he was ok to be left in his apartments jacuzzi, however, authorities found him unresponsive the following morning.

If you think of your body as a car. Substance abuse add mileage to your body/car. All the residuals from Friends funded Matthew Perry's life after Friends. I saw his TV interview last year with the release of his book. He said that whenever you see him skinny/thin he's using drugs. TMZ has recent pics of Perry and he was not thin but heavy. My guess is that all the decades of substance abuse caught up to him and his high mileage/car/body finally gave out on him.

Personally, I think it's deep sadness within that causes people to turn to addiction. He probably never found the love of his life and that depressed him.

There is a fairly robust track record of people boosting things up for effect, exaggerating some things, often the editors push them or ghost writers give things a helping hand.

I was just discussing how much he aged over the past 3 ~ 4 years. Accelerated aging like that also a decent proxy for some moderate to severe cardiovascular disease and inflammation. e.g. Elvis went from looking 30-something to 50-something in about 5 years time, before checking out.

Could be one factor, since a lot of these celebs deaths are "accidental" and drug use related.

This is because it takes a while for your body to acclimate to the heat generated by a hot tub, as you can absorb a lot of heat during that time. When you soak in a hot tub for longer than 15 minutes, you risk dehydration, exhaustion, electrolyte imbalances, and even distress to your cardiovascular system.

My neighbor's mom lived to be 101, she smoked like a chimney from a teen, she became legally blind in her mid 90s and had trouble with hand strength so he would light her cigs for her and help her smoke because she couldn't do it on her own. I think when it's your time to go, it's your time to go. Obviously, smoking and drugs are terrible, but you hear stories like I brought up, and then you hear stories about a person randomly dying at 35 with doctors unable to figure out the cause. And look at Keith Richards, I'm pretty sure he's done enough drugs to kill a few dozen normal people.

RIP Matt Perry, I didn't realize he was only 5 years older than me. Really makes you think about life.

Elvis believed he never had a drug problem because he was prescribed drugs from a doctor. Matthew Perry is in the same category of Elvis. Both had unlimited funds to support their drug habit. Perry made $20 million a year in residuals from Friends.

I think Matthew Perry was ahead of Elvis with his drug use. During Friends he had a serious drug problem from the start. Basically 25 years of drug abuse. I think he lasted a long time all things considered. He outlived Elvis, the king only had 10-15 years of serious drug abuse before he checked out. I think Perry's body was so badly damaged that he was living on borrowed time for the last 2 or 3 years.

Matthew Perry, the star of ‘Friends’ died on 28 October 2023, aged 54. His death was caused by the ‘acute effects of ketamine’, an autopsy revealed last December.
The actor's last words
According to People magazine, Perry's last words were a tragic request to his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. 'Shoot me up with a big one,' Perry told him, according to court documents filed.
The assistant has pleaded guilty
Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry's assistant, has admitted his guilt in the role he played in the actor's death. People magazine reports that Isamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine that resulted in Perry's death.
Perry was administered with several doses
Iwamasa, who had no medical training, injected Perry repeatedly with ketamine on the day of his death. The last injection was the third of the day and proved fatal.
Five people have already been arrested
The Justice Department has indicated that Iwamasa did not act alone. Four other individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with Perry's death, all facing felony illegal substance charges.
A highly influential distributor
Among those arrested is Jasveen Sangha, known as the ‘Ketamine Queen’. Authorities allege that Sangha was one of the main suppliers of the drug that took Perry's life.
Two doctors are among the accused
Also arrested were Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez. According to the Justice Department, both doctors are implicated in the conspiracy to distribute ketamine to Perry.
The actor's supplier among the defendants
Erik Fleming, another defendant, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of distribution of the illegal substance that resulted in Perry's death, according to People magazine.
Those arrested took advantage of actor's addiction
The Justice Department has stated that these individuals exploited Perry's addiction for profit, despite knowing the harm they were causing the actor.
Vocal about addiction struggles
The actor, who will forever be remembered as Chandler, had been very vocal about his struggles with addiction and had managed to recover in the past. However, he relapsed months before his death, which ultimately led to this tragic outcome.
