Friend's car damaged by hit and run driver

A friend's parked car got hit. His car needs a new bumper, the estimate is about 800, but he has to pay a 500 deductable(full coverage - Geico). A witness left a note with their own phone number and a description and license tag of the car that hit it. The police has been notified and the accident has been reported. The police gave back 2 possible addresses of the hit and run car's registrant. Stopped by the addresses, nobody home, no phone number provided. Are there any other options or is he going to have to pay 500 for some other douche's fault?

does ur friend has the uninsured motorist plan?

IIRC if he has that plan, he doenst need to pay the deductible

Bring a camera and check again. See if you can find any paint marks on the other car. You need to get as much proof as possible to have a case. Did the witness leave their name and number?

I think he has the uninsured motorist coverage, are you certain that means he doesn't have to pay the deductable?

I thought uninsured motorist coverage was for medical bills.

Smart man. :cookie:

ooops what I meant was the collision deductible waiver

Aren't cops supposed to be invovled in a hit and run? They should be doing something other than giving addresses.
