My friend is planning on buying a car. She's currently looking into a 1995 Nissan 200SX for a little over $9000. It has 50,000 miles and in excellent condition. What do you guys think?

She isn't particularly in love with the car, but she'll take it if it's a good deal.

What would you recommend for around $9000-$10000 that'd be a great deal?

I agree. U definitely have to check out bluebook prices. Excellent condition doesn't matter that much especially for a six year old car (at least not enough to be that much over bluebook). That's kinda steep bro.
 
Just go with a civic man. Looks ok, is a pretty good car. You can get like a 98 or 99 for 9 grand i think. I'm not that sure though.
 
She can get a brand new car for about that much (well not incl tax and dest). But if she's not too fond of it, I'd say wait until she finds something she really likes. Seems like it's a little overpriced. If you can talk it down to $7500 or 8000 then its a good deal.
 
considering myself a Nissan fanatic, i would like to think i know a lil something something about Nissan's. I would have to say that this is indeed a rip off.
last summer, i paid $4650 for my 1995 Nissan Sentra GXE w/46,0000 miles on it. It had a few dings and dents, but i thought i got a very good deal.

the 200SX is an excellent car, with a more powerful SRDE20 engine compared with the GA16DE of the Sentra, but that alone does not justify the $9000 price tag. talk it down to about $7,000 if possible. you will be very pleased with it. 😀

the only reason i got mine so cheap was probly becuz the mediocre condition of the car. it was in 2 minor accidents.

not unless it's a really stripped, optionless, high mileage CX hatchback. Honda's resale value is very high. get a nice Nissan that will last just as long, if not longer, for a LOT less money.

My sister got a 1999 Mazda Protege LX for $11,000 w/only 14,500 miles on it, so with a little more money, u could practically get a new car.
