friend of mine just flew to houston to try out for american idol. he can sing, meaning he can carry a note and not tone def, but he's not great. what i don't understand is why these people go out and line up when they suck big gonads???
this guy is actually pretty serious about his singing career. my friends and i are all supportive and all but we dont' have the heart to tell him that his voice doesn't cut it. also, he actually thinks he's good! i mean really really good! every opportunity he can get he'll bust out his guitar and starts singing just to show off.

its nice to have a dream and all but a dream thats within your grasp, a dream thats attainable because you know the reality of your skills. homeboy doesn't seem to realize this. another note, my best friend sings also, pretty nice voice, john mayerish style, and when all us friends get together, including the american idol hopeful, everybody always request my best friend to sing. this infuriates him cause he's the one who's passionate about his singing career. hahaha

if you're really good true friends, you shouldn't be afraid to tell him the truth...he's just going to get hurt by someone he doesn't know anyway.

It's nice to have a passion, but not so cool to follow it blindly. I didn't even know they were doing auditions already...I have a few friends that should try out (I sing a cappella, and some of my friends are seriously talented)

hahaha you know...when my best friend went over to his house (he's teaching us how to play the guitar) his mom told my best friend to sing for her cause he's better then her son. Ouch...what a slap in the face.

Since when does singing ability translate into popularity and record deals?

Bob Dylan?

I think Bob Dylan's better known for his song writing. Everybody knows he can't sing worth a damn. ;)

Exactly. Just goes to show that you don't need a voice to become popular. :)
