It's their property, their hotel, they can do anything they want.

The 750 charge is probably for cleaning/excessive disturbance.

Umm no they can't. If he didn't sign a contract they can't do anything.

You always sign when you check in.

There are always "outs" in what you sign for excessive use, wear, number of people, etc. These are open ended.

Their property, they can do what they want. You have no rights here.

Yes they do, anything that is open end they will have to show real damages. You can't just make up random numbers and charge peoples credit cards.

When you say "minor" do you mean "under 18" or "under 21 but over 18"?

But most people would probably be grateful that they didn't get in trouble, so...

I doubt that the contract states "in case of party consisting entirely of underage minors, daily room rate will increase to $750".

Have you ever been to a hotel and they NOT ask how many people? They charge a rate per people. I am sure he said "Just one" and so 30 people showed up. I imagine that a room is a certain amount and they charge a flat fee for each additional person. He prolly lucky the guy didnt count.

You've never stayed in a hotel then.

I've had some with a 500 dollar charge if you smoked in the room.

Just about any hotel I've been in has a sign on the back of one of the doors that says:

"Single occupancy rate: $XXX.XX"
"Double occupance rate: $XXX.XX"
"Additional charge of $XX.XX for any person over 4"

...or something along those lines.

Important part is that the $750 is a HELL of a lot cheaper than the ticket and lawyer fees this idiot would be paying had he been fully prosecuted for providing alcohol to minors.
