$200 i have no problem pitching for a friend. $10,000 i'd borrow from a mafia to get out one of my really close friends. [they're the smart kind, im the one most likely to end up in a situation like that lol]

is he your friend or an acquaintance ?

friend for the past year. Pretty much my only friend the past year.

I've driven to a jail to get my friend's ATM card and drew money from his account to pay. If the guy works FT like you said, he should have at least $200 saved up, see if he can do that. Then it's just the trip instead of cash.

Its not like $200 buck is alot. The last guy that i lent money to screwed me over for $2,000.... Thats another story

No it isn't. You are the mark in that story too.

1) can you stand to lose that $200 right now, never to be seen again?
2) If you would have told him to straighten up his Sh!t, would he have listened to you?
3)Is he going to lose a good job by staying in there till his court date?

If you answered no to any one of those questions, forget about it and him.

For $200 yeah, I'd do it.

Think if it was you, and your friend wouldn't even come to your aid over a matter of $200.00. You'd be pretty disappointed.

HE got pulled over. HE got the warrants. HE should pay.

He said he will pay me back this friday. Last time he owed me something, It took him 2 MONTHS to get the item to me.. thats why im weary.

haha "that item?" That sounds fishy to me... I smell drugs for some reason.. Dunno why.. Not judging, just something weird about you being so vague 😉

I think his family should be first. Makes you wonder.. if he can't even get fam to bail him out I mean and turns to friends...

Really just depends on the friend.. i don't know this guy - you do.. is he reliable? Decent? Just got caught up in a melee at a bar or something? Or a low life? Lacks responsibities and commitment? If he's the former why not.. later - I don't think so.

Well..the only thing you COULD do is claim that $200 on your tax return since he won't give it back...you can get it back that way but that's about it.

I'd let him rot.

How can you do that? his friends not a non-profit organization.. well maybe he is non-profit 😛 but surly he's not registered as such for you to take deduction.

Go directly to Jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

I'd leave him there, or at least get collateral FIRST, THEN bail him out. He fails to pay, you already have enough stuff to sell at the pawnshop to get your money back.

A buddy of mine used to do this to get money from girls. He would have his brother call them and say he was in jail and ask them for $200 to get him out. I would get the money from the girls and we would have a fun night out. Worked every time.

So I say hell no don't lend him the money.

I dunno, tough situation. I've kind of learned to detect when people just talk to me when they need something. So I kind of distance myself from them, and when they ask for something I politely decline. You're in a rough spot though, what would you do if you were in his shoes?

Tough spot...but the grandmother thing swings me in the way of denying...going as far as that is a bit too far...
