Fellow Anandtechers,

A dear friend of my family's almost passed a way a little while back from a brain aneurysm. Anyway this is a little bit about him and his family. He is doing somewhat better but is still in bad shape. Sadly his insurance won't cover the expenses to have him rehabilitated. He was a strong leader in my community. Head of the local paper and very active in church and social groups (Rotary Clubs etc...) If anyone feels like helping out a bit it would really be apreacaiated. You can find his website here.

Thanks for reading.

thanks... he always did a lot for my highschool. He is the type of guy that would go out of his way just to say hi or to ask you how your day was. He had been a bit out of shape, but was going to the gym often to finally get the "six pack" he had always joked about.

That's really sad...

A friend died from complications after having an anuerysm about 2 years ago.

I miss her a lot.. 🙁

I can only afford $10, but I hope he gets the $60,000 that they need. Maybe that person who bid on that Ghost Cane on Ebay would be willing to help out. If he can bid $60,000+ on a ghost, then I'm sure he can help a real person in need.

Looks like a new twist on that nice Nigerian guy who needs help in transferring some money if you ask me...Doesn't this guy have insurance?

You think government healthcare would pony up $60k for treatment of this? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

yeah he does have insurance i guess. I honestly dont know too much about his insurance or healthcare. I know he was head of our local paper for a long time. A couple years back he moved onto another paper in the neighboring town which would probably be a better job and I think would have decent bennifits. The paper he is editor of now is www.fultonleader.com altough I dont see his name on there. If proof is what you are looking for he is still listed here. paper info

I am not sure if they have replaced him yet or not. I am sure as a business they are obligated to give him recovery time but I do not know how long that will last.

Sorry I am not really up to date on all the details. I have been in college the last 4 years and only see him every now and then. Mom sends me email updates pretty often though. Tonight is when she sent the link. You can believe me it is true.

thanks

Not trying to be mean here since this is probably a good cause, but why do you say you are a senior in ECE when your student profile says you're in GE?

Because, while I do feel for the guy it's not my job to pony up for his medical bills.

That and ask someone who has went to a military or VA hospital. Or you may mean why doesn't the Gov. pay for your choice among insurance companies. Then you should ask why medicare is so fvcked up.

I hope he gets well. My sister died when she was 29 from an undetected brain aneurysm. 🙁

She had a headache one day and then collapsed on the kitchen floor the next day and died several hours later. 🙁 🙁 🙁
