i give up, he can deal withit

BTW, it absolutely was NOT A RESIDENTIAL AREA

Well...then it might have been a highly urban (downtown) area? Or an office park setting? Somewhere with a larger than usual concentration of pedestrians, I would imagine.

Your friend is teh dumb455.

No sh!t. Sorry but you're friend isn't ready for the responsibility. Give him till the age of 18 to think about it! Driving is not a God given right. I have a 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter and your "friend" is lucky I didn't catch him doing 58 in a 30 anywhere NEAR my house! I'd take time off work to show up in court testify against his wreckless butt!

[rant]Crap like this really eerks me! Dumba$$ kids going double the speed limits and bragging about it. "Yeah, I was going 90 in a 40, but I beat that beemer..." You sir need to be driving a Schwinn! Then they brag about it or post up in here looking for pointers on how to beat the law because THEY messed up! Sorry, but I have no sympathy for people who endanger other because of stupidity. 58 in a 30 is stupid and this guy deserves anything that gets thrown at him and then some.[/rant]

Someone said that with the cinderella license, if you get 2 or more points, your license gets suspended. Is this true? If so, what can he do to get out of this? I think he'd much rather pay more money than get his license suspended. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Why would you come to this forum for legal advice?

OK, first of all, I thought I might be able to get some good advice out of you guys, which some of you (most of you) have provided, whether I wanted to hear it or not.

Second of all, I really don't care for this horseshit about me being my "friend." It wasn't be who was driving. Believe what you want, doesn't matter to be. Those of you who have a little trust, believe me, it wasn't me speeding.

Trust me, its much better to lose his license and learn a lesson, than to kill someone, and learn a lesson, with added jail time.

I would say he's done for. 17 and dumb, He has no possible excuse. He just took his test fairly recently I would assume so he should no that 58 in a 30 is really dumb. This kid is gonna get what he deserves. I figure a judge will see this as he is not responsible enough to have that license.

Dan,

I lost my license when I was 17 as well. I got a speeding ticket for 85 in a 50 zone (km/h not miles). Then I got a second ticket for going through a red light. This pushed me over the limit and I lost my license for 1 month.

My parents moved me to the lowest possible spot on their insurance (to lessen the $ blow).

It really didn't affect me at all. I got my friends to drive for the month I lost it and this allowed me to drink more since I couldn't be DD. :)

I am now 31. I haven't had a ticket since my running red light ticket and my insurance is as low as possible.

Yeah, you did. Probably good advice, too. Where did I say that you didn't?

The driving privilege system in Singapore looks more and more genius. The engine power (measured in cc's) increases with the amt of years you have on your driver's license.

US: ADOPT THAT SYSTEM NOW.

Wow 58 in 30. That's bad. I know some pretty stupid drivers too. Even if its not a residential area theres a reason for the limit.
