Heh, this is the "business" end of a pot plant.

Interesting story.... My cousin called me up about 15 years ago and said he found some pot growing in a field near his house and that I should come over and check it out. So of course I bolt for his house. When I get there he takes me down in his basement and shows me this HUGE bud (about the size of half a loaf of french bread) hell, I didn't even know they could grow that large. I'm astonished at this point and then he drags out one of those full sized Hefty garbage bags and it's chuck full of buds. So now I'm WAY past astonished and then he opens up a storage room and to my delight there are FIFTEEN more black garbage bags practically bursting at the seams. I couldn't freaking believe it! We never did figure out who's pot field it was, and luckily for him that person never found out who had it either...

Just so you know, if you ever find pot growing on your property you should call the cops, rather than attempting to hide it from them. Marijuana is called "weed" for a reason; the stuff can sprout almost anywhere. Having a few plants crop up in your yard unbeknownst to you isn't unheard of.

I would suggest you just dig it up and throw it away. Pot does still grow wild in some places where hemp used to be commercially grown and it is known as ditchweed. It often grows on the side of ditches or roads where the land is not looked after. It's very low potency and not worth the effort to harvest it and smoke it. Almost all of the good pot nowadays is like all crops, it requires care and attention to grow quality buds.

The strain I'm referring to is primarily sativa, although there is also an indica. It is an outdoor strain and is hard to spot as cannabis to the untrained eye until it matures and begins to flower. Once it is flowering it is easy to tell its cannabis though. The leaves are webbed and look different than the typical indica or sativa leaves.

The cops around here would get sick of calls after the first day. I saw 100+ ditchweed plants today alone in a single field. It's a pain to keep down and clogs up everything. Around 60 years ago there were fields upon fields of it cultivated for WW2, big ropes were a major use.

species, darnit, not 'strains' though i guess they are used universally nowadays. Sativa is a species, not a strain.

There are three species of Cannabis, C. sativa, C. indica, and C. ruderalis. Ruderalis is the least potent out of the three; generally you will find sativa, indica, or hybrids thereof. Indica has somewhat broader leaves than sativa; indica grows short whereas sativa grows tall. Ruderalis has broader leaves than sativa as well. There are 'hybrids' so to speak between different species.
