companion airfare
Site says purchase $1000 in AmEx traveler checks, and a your friend flys free w/ you on your paid roundtrip airfare. But the catch is you have to book it w/ AIP(an independent travel agency). This includes international flights. Does any1 have experience with AIP? How are their prices? It may be a good deal if you're traveling because you're probably gonna purchase traveler's checks anyways.

Make sure that you find out what the normal fare would be.

Many airlines are promoting the friend/family fly free but are creating a special ticket class that is about 75% more that the standard fare.

I also did not see anything in the rules that allow an international trip. Additionally the paid fare must be in the $369-$399 range, and many, many excursion fares in the continental US are much less than 1/2 that anyway. Add to that the $15 service fee to send in that offer, and I think you are looking at what will end up not looking so good in the end. Depending on your origin-destination, I would think that definitely YMMV.
