I just built a system. Everything in it is new, except for the processor. It is a T-Bird 800 thats been through a few hands. So when things started going wonky, I suspected it to be the problem, especially because it would not even overclock 50MHz with any stability. I sold the cpu to him at a bargain price. However, the mainboard, which is an MSI K7T Pro-2A, is under my suspicion also. I have the same board, and things seem to go slower, much slower. I have an 1100 Tbird under the hood and it is slower than my Tbird 800. Same story on this guy's. Slowness across the board, especially when it comes to ata-100 and the 46 IBM Deskstar. He's running Win2k. SOmetimes thigs get stuck installing, it just stops, the computer seems fine, but the install is frozen.
TBird 800 (GW FOP-38)

Plextor 32x12x10x CD-RW

Is there something that I didn't do?? Anything that I should do??
Help me diagnose this problem please.
