Fried my 6800 GT??

I was using my computer one balmy New England summer afternoon and about an hour into gaming on my computer it just went down hard and wouldn't turn back on. System stats are:

Asus A8N-SLI deluxe
Nvidia 6800GT (1) --brand escapes memory probably Asus
OCZ plat rev2 2x512MB 2-2-2-5
AMD ath 64 3500
500w psupp

I took the most likely component to fail, the psupp and bought a new Aspire 520w psupp cause i figured the one i had was just trash and i was only waiting on it to fail anyways. I used a spare from work to test with the machinie and plugging straight into board with the ATX power and 12v backup i was able to turn it on, which led me to really believe it was the psupp.

So i get the psupp in and hook everything up, and try to turn it over... no joy. So now i'm getting really pissed and wondering wtf happened to my box and how it worked before but not now. Then i try to power it off of a psupp from one of my other boxes and when i connect just the ATX and 12v once again i can turn on the computer.

So i start checking components, blah blah blah... Eventually i come down to if i power in the 6pin connected for the aux power of 6800GT the computer doesn't go anywhere. But if i leave it out it's running just fine (just the vid card is not functioning as a $400 card should). With a 500w in it before and a 520w in it now, i'm assuming i'm not overdrawing the psupp. So the question now is...

Do i get to wait a month for Asus to send me a new video card as i had to wait when the original mobo i got from them was bad, or does anyone see anything i'm missing that is the solution to my woes?

fairly sure that it is seated fine, did the jiggle wiggle of the card, but i'll pull it fully and place it back in when i get home as an attempt to stave off the wait time on RMAing the product.

Does anyone think it could be the cable that connects 2 normal power connectors to the 6pin power for the card? I would assume if any of the pins came loose in the connector that it would operate just as it is now without any aux power connection. I did look at them and push in the pins as far as i could cause i noticed one of my other power connectors controlling a case fan had fallen a little loose.

its possible that the old PSU did some damage to your card

take out everything you do not need, (hard drive, opticals ect) and try to get it to post....

So you have no power to the board at all?

Without the 6pin connector in the video card the computer turns on and boots just fine, but with the 6pin connector plugged into the video card the computer does jack. Spins up case fans for about 1/10th of a second and goes dead. CPU fan never turns a rotation.

Motherboard does have the power LED lit when i put in the 6pin connector, but it won't turn over when i push the power button.
