Fried board?

How do you know if your board is toast. I couldn't get my trusty BE6 to fire up after replaceing every part in the box so I swapped out my boards and on the back side up in the corner where the chip slot is the board has a slighty darker golden spot. The whole board is that golden color but this one section is dark.

does that mean it's burnt?

Best bet would be to first take the board out of the case, install just the video card and hook up the power supply, reset the BIOS with via the jumper, try and turn it on. If you get nothing, maybe it is dead.

Do your fans spin at all, is your cpu fan hooked up to the cpu fan header on the mobo?

The beeping sequence tell you wht went wrong.

You can usually tell if your board is toast by the odor it gives away.... As for the beeps, time to find the manual and see what the code is that its giving you.
