Been following it closely for a few months. Looks fantastic. They really captured the mood and it looks like it's gonna be a blast.

I'm been following this game for a little while. Wouldn't mind getting a collectors edition. Jason is my favorite Horror icon.
 
Interesting! Thanks for the post. Friday the 13th on NES was one of the toughest, most frustrating games ever but I kept playing it for some reason.
 
It's not what I'd hope for from a Jason game....the teleporting n all, graphics could be better but as it stands, it hasn't interested me. Here's hope for a Nightmare on Elm St. game.

This of course wont be anything like that game. From the footage they've shown and info they've released it looks amazing.

Based on what Ive seen the graphics look darn good to me. They arent groundbreaking but theyre good. I have the virtual cabin which is the same engine as the game. Not optimized and not fully flushed out and even that looks really good. Walking up to the Jason models.....I have to say they look fantastic. If youre basing this on the gameplay video released in the summer that was pre alpha. The recent ones look better.
 
Where does one get the Virtual Cabin thing? Is it still available?

I watched an early video I think the teleporting thing makes sense. Because Jason moves really slow, it would be too easy for the survivors to constantly run away from him. Also, I don't think he teleports right next to people, there is a safety bubble around the players that he can't teleport into. It makes sense if you watch the movies because even though Jason only walks slow he would always end up one step ahead of the victims.

In the early movies, Jason simply stalked them all, he's physical and has amazing hearing despite being a walking corpse after part 3. ...actually I'm not sure in which sequel it's presumed he is actually dead and reanimated.
Part 1 was his mom going psycho, part 2 was him still alive I believe, surviving in the wilderness and finds his mom's dead body, then goes psycho. I assume he didn't drown the second time either so in part 3 he's still alive which is where he finds his mask and ditches the potato sack. He's really more of a zombie. He knows the camp extremely well, has amazing hearing and strength.

He's not teleporting, he's just smart enough and surreptitious enough to stalk his victims, take shortcuts cause he knows where they will or could go. IN the remake a few years back, he has underground tunnels. Although back then, all that was just part of the suspense which isn't going to translate well in a video game so I get why they had him teleport but to me that's really pushing it and I just don't like that idea at all. Maybe if he was a ghost but being physical, reanimated corpse...no.
 
No one says he is teleporting in the movie. It's a game mechanic that allows the Jason player to just show up the way he did in the movies despite being noticeably slower than the protagonists.

You can get the virtual cabin from the official website for $15. It's not optimized and there isnt a ton to do, but it's neat if you're REALLY interested in the game.

There is going to be single player added now,supposedly after release, in the summer.

I have 17hrs in the beta. Better than expected. Graphics and atmosphere are real good,solid map .Lots of tense moments. Definitely needs some tweaks and polish . Everyone uses the Black chick ,bit of an immersion breaker when you see 5 of the same counselor running around,hopefully that changes at release.

Ill be buying it.Its not perfect,but its fun and addictive.

runs good on my 2600k / r9 290 at epic settings,1080p . Dips into 30's at times.

I almost didn't back this when they first kickstarted it because it was multiplayer only. If they didn't have a package that gave me 4 copies of the game to give to friends I might have passed. As it is, it'll be like Titanfall, where you'll get a few weeks of fun out of it before it dries up.
 
I put 45 hours into the beta. It was hilarious. Private matches were the way to go.

Once they nerfed athletic girl it really helped overall. I unlocked bookish girl and she was fantastic. Very hard for Jason to find. Extremely quick at repairs.

I had a blast playing the beta. Most fun Ive had gaming in a long time. Graphics arent as good as I thought they would be but they work. Voice chat absolutely MAKES the game. The "Ohhhhhhhhhh crap hes heeeere!!!!" Is priceless.
 
I'm intrigued. Loved the movies as a kid and re-watched them all not that long ago. Would be down for a fun time in that world.

It was a little rough around the edges since it is still in beta. The controls & FoV were my biggest issue.

They really nailed the music and aesthetic of Friday the 13th. I look forward to the full release.
 
This game dropped today, is anyone playing it? How is it? I've a few keys from the kickstarter but am not sure if it's worth keeping or just selling/giving away.
 
Interested, didn't even know this was a thing. The NES game was definitely so freaking hard.

I know this is different and I've watched a few YT videos. Even know how to kill him because you can apparently lol
