WOW! I think this is the longest its gone without a desktop thread being posted up. I guess the whole thread idea is dying. Anyway I'm here to keep it alive.

Not yet 😉 KDE 3 is a bit buggy from the sources I tried. I am going to give the team a little while longer before I attempt to load it again. This is the last version of KDE 2.X.
